New Delhi: USA Tech giant Apple is being blamed and sued by a British businessman for his costly divorce. Now, a British man is suing an iPhone maker for approximately Rs 53 crore. The whole incident arose after his messages to sex workers which he thought were deleted, showed up on the family iMac and read by the man’s wife, leading to divorce proceedings.
The middle-aged man, known only as Richard, also claims that the tech giant Apple has failed to inform users that deleting a message on one device does not remove it from all linked devices, as reported by The Times. The man has reportedly called upon London-based law firm Rosenblatt to file a lawsuit against the iPhone maker. However, the roughly Rs 53 crore lawsuit is to seek compensation for the financial losses incurred from the divorce and legal fees.
A man, who chose to remain anonymous, had used iMessage to communicate with sex workers. He thought he had deleted the incriminating messages from his iPhone. Unfortunately, he overlooked the synchronization feature of devices linked by the same Apple ID.
In the end, the messages remained accessible on the family’s iMac, leading his wife to file for divorce.
He described divorce as an “extraordinarily stressful process,” especially when children and family dynamics are involved. He blamed the ordeal on Apple’s incorrect notification that his messages were deleted, which they were not. He noted that a message confirming the deletion on the device would have been a helpful indication.

New Delhi: Motorola has announced the official launch date of the Motorola Razr 50 series in the US and China this month. The series includes Motorola Razr 50 and Motorola Razr 50 Ultra smartphones. New Delhi: Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has taken major action against Electricity KYC Update Scam, directing Pan India IMEI based blocking of 392 mobile handsets misused in cybercrime, financial frauds.
“Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has initiated targeted actions to protect citizens in response to reports of fraudulent activities involving mobile numbers in electricity KYC update scams,” Ministry of Communications said in a release.
Citizens reported some cases of fraudsters using SMS & WhatsApp messages related to electricity KYC updates and malicious APK files to manipulate and gain control over victims’ devices.
The DoT utilized the Chakshu portal for reporting and analyzing fraudulent activities, initially identifying five suspect numbers. The portal’s AI-driven analysis revealed that 392 handsets linked to 31,740 mobile numbers were involved in such fraudulent activities.
The DoT has directed all Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) for Pan India IMEI based blocking of 392 mobile handsets misused in cybercrime, financial frauds. It also directed them for re-verification of 31,740 mobile connections linked to these mobile handsets. Failure in re-verification will result in immediate disconnection of reported numbers and blocking of associated handsets.

Chakshu is the latest addition to the citizen centric facilities already available on the Sanchar Saathi portal (www.Sancharsaathi.gov.in) of DoT. ‘Chakshu’ facilitates citizens report suspected fraud communication received over call, SMS, or WhatsApp with the intention of defrauding like KYC expiry or update of bank account/payment wallet/SIM/gas,connection/electricity connection, sextortion, impersonation as government official/ relative for sending money, disconnection of all mobile numbers by the DoT, etc.
