    New Delhi: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju slammed the leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi on Saturday for his comments about the absence of representation from Dalit, Tribal and Other Backward Classes communities in the “Miss India pageant list.”

    Reacting to Rahul Gandhi’s remark, the BJP leader shared a post on the microblogging site X and said, “Now, He wants reservations in Miss India competitions, Films, sports! It is not only issue of “Bal Budhi”,  but people who cheer him are – equally responsible too!”

    The Union Minister also accused Gandhi of inciting divisions in the country with his renewed remarks on the nationwide case census.

    “Rahul Gandhi Ji can’t divide our country. PM Narendra Modi ji made it clear that Supreme Court won’t be allowed to alter reservations in IAS, IPS, IFS, all top services recruitment. But he can’t see 1st Tribal President, OBC PM, Record Numbers of SC/ST Cabinet Ministers!” he added.

    On Saturday, LoP Rahul Gandhi reiterated his call for a nationwide caste census and highlighted the lack of representation of women from Dalit, Tribal or Backward Classes communities in the “Miss India pageant list.”

    While addressing a gathering at the Samvidhan Samman Sammelan in Prayagraj, he said, “I checked the list of Miss India to see if there would be any Dalit or tribal woman in it, but there was no women from Dalit, tribal or OBC.”

    He further added that they will conduct a caste census.

    “We will conduct a caste census and the 50 per cent cap on the reservation which I don’t accept will be removed…First, we should have the data before us regarding the participation of different castes in various institutions…Talks of reservation are always held but they never get a chance,” he said.

    Heavy rain has been continuing in Harda for the last three days. Due to continuous rain, the rivers and streams of the area are overflowing. After the water receded, traffic resumed on the bridge at 11 am.

Due to heavy rainfall in the upper regions on Saturday night, most of the rivers and streams in the district started overflowing on Sunday morning. Due to this, traffic on the Narmadapuram-Khandwa State Highway remained closed for about six hours.

    The bridge got submerged due to the rising water level of Matkul river located in Kadaula village two km away from the district headquarters. Traffic on the highway came to a halt from 5 am on Sunday. Big vehicles remained stationed on both sides of the bridge. A queue of big vehicles was formed. On the other hand, small four wheelers, bikes and passenger buses travelled an additional distance of about 12 km. The drivers who were aware of the opening of the additional route travelled. After the water level on the Matkul bridge decreased, the movement of big vehicles was started at around 11 am.

    It is worth noting that for the first time in this rainy season, traffic has been closed on the state highway. Apart from Matkul, the water level of the Ajnaal river flowing close to the city was also high. However, the water level of the river was about four feet below the bridge. Due to this, the traffic was not closed.

    Due to the Matkul bridge on the state highway being submerged in water, the drivers reached the district headquarters via Neemgaon road and Samardha village from in front of the soya plant located on the highway. The drivers who had to go towards Khandwa also passed through this alternate route. However, on the alternate route also there was about one and a half feet of water on the drain near Samardha village. Despite this, the drivers kept commuting. The Kotwar of Gram Panchayat Samardha was put on duty to stop the drivers from commuting.

    Case 1- The wife of Ramadhar Tiwari, who lives in Ratanpur, filed a petition demanding compassionate appointment for her younger son after her husband’s death. It was said that her husband was working as an Assistant Sub-Inspector in the Police Department. He died during service on 20 August 2007. After which his wife applied to the Bilaspur SP in October and December 2007 for compassionate appointment to her younger son Dinanath Tiwari.

    The application was rejected in August 2012. The reason given for this was that Dinanath’s elder brother Kedarnath is working as a Shiksha Karmi class-3. A petition was filed in 2014 challenging this decision. The court rejected the petition after hearing all the parties in the case.

    Case 2- Similarly, Yash Mishra, a resident of Baikunthpur, was given compassionate appointment after his father’s death. His mother Sunita Mishra was a lecturer. In the year 2018, the department relieved her from service on the basis of his mother being in a government job. A petition was filed in the High Court regarding this. Yash had told in his application that at the time of his father’s death, he was studying engineering in Bhilai. His father had brain cancer. The entire amount was spent on his treatment. After his father’s death, he left his studies and applied for compassionate appointment. The court rejected his petition after hearing.

    Case 3- Suman’s father Ram Murti Sharma, a resident of Kanker, was working as a rural health organizer. He died in June 2019, after which Suman applied for compassionate appointment in the CMHO office of Rajnandgaon in July 2019. Her application was rejected on the basis that her brother Raman Sharma was working as a Shiksha Karmi class-1 Biology in a government school in Kanker, regarding which she filed a petition in the court, but after hearing her petition was rejected.

    New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted on Sunday that a lot of things are happening in India in the 21st century which are strengthening the foundation for a ‘Viksit Bharat’.

    In his monthly ‘Mann Ki Baat’ broadcast, he said his Independence Day call for one lakh youth without any political background to join politics has evoked wide reactions and urged the youngsters to enter public life for a developed India and stronger democracy. Countless people from all walks of life joined the freedom movement even though they had no political background, he noted.

    “They devoted themselves entirely to India’s independence. Today, to achieve the vision of a Viksit Bharat, we need to rekindle that same spirit once again,” he said. A large number of young people are willing to join politics, and all they need is right opportunity and guidance, he said.

    Modi said youngsters have written to him and reacted on social media to his call. They have noted that family politics suppresses new talent, he added.

    During the programme, Modi spoke to several young entrepreneurs helming different space start-ups as they highlighted their work. They praised the growing vibrant space eco system in the country.

    The prime minister said the youth of the country has benefitted a lot from various reforms in the space sector.

    On the occasion, he noted that India celebrated its first National Space Day on August 23 to mark the first anniversary of the successful landing of its spacecraft on the Moon.

    Highlighting works of different organisations and people in improving environment, he batted for collective efforts in the field.

  • Electronic interlocking system will give speed to trains, safety will also be ensured

    135 electronic interlocking systems have been installed in West Central Railway. Electronic interlocking systems are also installed at 45 railway stations in Bhopal division. Efforts are being made for digitalization and modernization in train operations.

    Electronic interlocking is being adopted on a large scale to digitize and modernize train operations and to increase security. Computer based electronic interlocking system has been started at 45 stations in Bhopal division. Soon other stations of Bhopal division will also be equipped with advanced electronic interlocking system.

    Electronic interlocking system will speed up the trains. Along with this, it can also be connected with Kavach technology as well as centralized traffic control system.     So far, electronic interlocking systems have been started at 135 stations in West Central Railway, which is capable of accurately controlling the movement of trains. West Central Railway is replacing all electrical signaling systems with computer-based electronic interlocking systems. In this, computer-based electronic interlocking systems have been started at a total of 135 stations so far, including 45 stations of Bhopal division, 45 stations of Jabalpur division and 45 stations of Kota division. Computer-based systems and electronic equipment have been used to control electronic interlocking signals, points and level-crossing gates.

In this competition, the Under-17 boys team performed brilliantly and secured first place in the entire Jharkhand state, while the Under-17 girls team also performed impressively and secured fourth place in the state.

In the final, the team won 4-1 against Simdega. On the other hand, the girls team defeated Chatra on 22-08-2024 and Garhwa on 23-08-2024 by 14-0 and 12-0 respectively.     In addition, the CBI raided the home of former RG Kar Medical Superintendent Sanjay Vasisht in Entally. Searches were also carried out in Howrah, targeting a medical supplier’s residence in Hatgachha. The agency also raided Biplab Singh’s home, alongside the residences of two other suppliers, Officer Khan and Suman Hazra. Sandeep Ghosh is accused of granting special favors to these suppliers.

The School Education Department is innovating to make schools smart. In this session, teachers from class 1 to 8 will be equipped with tablets. Under this, 75 thousand teachers of the state will be provided money to buy tablets.

    The entire syllabus will be uploaded on the tablet. Through this, teachers will teach children in the class. In the last session, the government had provided funds to teachers posted in primary, high and higher secondary schools to buy tablets. The State Education Center has issued orders in this regard.

    In the order issued, it has been directed that teachers will have to complete the process of purchasing tablets before December. Teachers have been directed to buy the tablet by 30 November and send its receipt to the State Education Center, so that the amount is paid into their accounts before 31 December.

    An amount of Rs 113 crore will be spent on tablets

    The government will pay Rs 15,000 per teacher to buy tablets. In such a situation, an amount of about Rs 113 crore has been sanctioned for 75 thousand 598 teachers to buy tablets. The department has directed that the teachers will have to buy the tablets themselves and upload the receipt on the portal of the State Education Center. After this, this amount will be sent to the teachers’ account.

    If you retire before four years, you will have to pay the amount

    The department has directed that teachers who retire before two years will not be forced to buy a tablet. If a teacher retires after working for two years, he will have to deposit the amount of the tablet in the government’s account. If after buying the tablet, the teacher retires after working for three years, he will have to deposit Rs 3750 for the remaining one year in the government’s account. If he retires two years earlier, he will have to deposit Rs 7000.
