  • Haploidentical Transplant: Even if there is half blood match, transplant is giving new life

File photo of Super Specialty Hospital, Indore and bone marrow transplant.

    Highlights

Free treatment is available with the help of schemes and institutions. Transplant in a private hospital costs Rs 35 lakh. Transplants of two adult patients have been done in the hospital.

Vinay Yadav, Naiduniya Indore (Haploidentical Transplant). Patients in Indore are now getting modern facilities. The facility of haplo transplant for adult patients has started in the state’s first government super specialty hospital. With this, now patients of all age groups along with children are getting the facility of transplant.

Till now bone marrow transplant could be done only after 100% blood match, but through this, transplant can be done even after 50% match. Patients of leukemia, chronic thalassemia, blood cancer, anemia etc. are getting benefit in this.

    Two patients underwent transplant

So far, transplants of two adult patients have been done in the hospital. The cost of this in a private hospital is Rs 35 lakh, but in SSH, patients are getting free facility with the help of government schemes and institutions.

Hematologist Dr. Akshay Lahoti said that for transplant we match blood groups, if only half matches then the patient’s risk increases. In bone marrow transplant, if the blood group does not match then transplant does not take place, but in this if half matches, then also transplant can be done. For this, like blood group, HLA (Human Leukocyte Antigen) is matched.

In this, we match the genes of the patient and the donor. Earlier, haplo transplants were not done much, but now new medicines and procedures have come, due to which it is now being done.

    This is haplo transplant

Generally in bone marrow transplant, complete matching of donor’s and patient’s cells is essential because if donor’s cells are even slightly different then patient’s body will not accept them, but in the new technology, only specific cells are matched and with the help of a modern machine, they are extracted and put in patient’s body.

Haplo transplant is like only two out of 10 full matches are found between the patient and the donor, but haplo match is not difficult. Haplo means half matching. If HLA test is done then it is easy to match with parents, children, siblings.

In this, the damaged cells are transplanted with healthy stem cells of the donor. The cost of transplant in a private hospital is Rs 35 lakh and the cost of medicines also reaches around Rs 35 lakh. In such a situation, patients had to go to private hospitals or other states, now the facility is available here.

Benefits to patients of these diseases

Those patients suffering from blood related diseases like leukemia, blood cancer, aplastic anemia, sclerotic anemia, thalassemia etc. whose blood is not fully matched get the benefit of haplo transplant. Till now, transplant of a patient of aplastic anemia and acute leukemia has been done in the hospital.

Children are getting the benefit of transplant since one year

Chacha Nehru Hospital Superintendent Dr. Preeti Malpani said that children are getting the facility of haplo transplant since last one year. Till now transplant of about 12 children has been done. This includes children from all over the country. The blood irradiator machine which recently came to MY Hospital will also prove helpful in all transplants.

New Delhi: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and vice president of National Conference (NC) Omar Abdullah welcomed Home Minister Amit Shah’s comment on the National Conference’s manifesto. Speaking during an election campaign in Ganderbal district, Omar addressed a query about Shah’s comments on the NC manifesto.

“I thank Amit Shah for mentioning the manifesto of a small party. It means our campaign has attracted his attention. I reviewed our manifesto after Shah’s remarks on X, and I found that none of the issues he mentioned are actually in our manifesto. However, it is a significant achievement for us that the Home Minister of the country has read our party’s manifesto,” Abdullah said.

Regarding reports of Jamaat-i-Islami (JeI) contesting the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, Abdullah said, “The beauty of democracy is that anyone can contest elections. I saw news that JeI was trying to get its ban lifted to participate in the elections. Unfortunately, the government did not lift the ban even after the elections were announced. Now, there are reports that JeI is fielding candidates as independents, which is a welcome step. Let them present their manifesto and promises, and it is up to the people to decide whom they will choose.”

Omar addressed a public rally in Ganderbal district, where speculation suggests he might contest from two places in Kashmir, possibly including Ganderbal. However, the party has not yet made any official announcement.

  • Fraud in PM Awas Yojana! Withdrawal of money without construction, know the whole matter

Pradeep Gupta, Kawardha. A case of big fraud has come to light under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Kawardha district of Chhattisgarh. Where the officials uploaded the pictures of the government building and withdrew the amount without constructing the house and now after the matter has come to light, the officials have started covering it up.

This entire matter is of Village Panchayat Lakhatola of Janpad Panchayat Sahaspur Lohara. Where in the year 2019, a house was sanctioned in the name of Binda Bai father Laxman and the first installment of Rs. 25 thousand was released and the beneficiary was ordered to build a house. But citing his loneliness, the beneficiary did not build a house in the village and migrated to his son-in-law’s village. Here, the responsible officer of the Janpad Panchayat uploaded the photo in a fake manner and deposited the entire amount of Rs. 1 lakh 30 thousand in the beneficiary’s bank account.

On the other hand, the Gram Panchayat opposed this and did not give permission to build a house in any other Panchayat. The Sarpanch’s husband says that the beneficiary has not built any house and has migrated to another Gram Panchayat and is living in her son-in-law’s house. The CEO was informed about this but the housing department officials arbitrarily released the amount to the beneficiary.

There is a provision of providing wages for 95 days under MNREGA scheme for the construction of the said house, regarding which the employment assistant of the Gram Panchayat said that the house was not constructed by the beneficiary at the approved place and information about it was also not given. Due to this, the muster roll was not issued. It is clear from this that the officers have connived with the beneficiary to withdraw the amount. Not only this, the block coordinator of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana uploaded the photo of the meeting hall built in the district panchayat premises instead of the beneficiary’s house and released the final amount.

Now in this entire case, District Panchayat CEO Sandeep Agarwal says that the female beneficiary had applied that no one lives in this village and she wants to build a house in her son-in-law’s village. Because her proposal was passed by the Gram Sabha. After which she has built a house there. He said that there is a provision that the beneficiary can get a house built anywhere in the village where he is eligible.
