  • TDP Vs YSRCP Over Tirupati Laddoo Adulteration; 10 Key Updates On Prasadam Controversy |

A bitter political fight erupted in Andhra Pradesh after Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu alleged that animal fat was used in the preparation of laddoos at the Tirupati temple during the tenure of the previous YSRCP government, led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

During a press conference, the party displayed the purported lab report which apparently confirmed the presence of “beef tallow”, “Lard” and “Fish Oil” in the given ghee sample, according to a report by PTI.

The YSRCP has accused Chandrababu Naidu of making ‘heinous allegations’ for political advantage, while the TDP has circulated the lab report to support its claims of adulteration.

During an NDA legislative party meeting on Wednesday, Chandrababu Naidu alleged that the previous government, led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, had compromised the sanctity of the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirupati by using substandard ingredients and animal fat in the preparation of laddoos.

Following allegations made by Naidu regarding former CM Reddy and the Tirupati temple prasad, YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP Y.V. Subba Reddy condemned Naidu’s remarks as ‘baseless.’ Subba Reddy stated that Naidu’s comments were aimed at manipulating Hindu sentiments.

TDP spokesperson Anam Venkata Ramana Reddy presented a report by Gujarat-based livestock laboratory in a press conference that confirmed the presence of “beef tallow”, “Lard” and “Fish Oil” in the given ghee sample.

The sample receipt was dated July 9, 2024, while the lab report was issued on July 16.

However, neither the Andhra Pradesh government nor the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which oversees the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple, has officially confirmed the lab report, according to PTI.

The laboratory, CALF (Centre for Analysis and Learning in Livestock & Food), is a multidisciplinary analytical facility operated by the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and located in Anand, Gujarat.

On Thursday, Chandrababu Naidu accused the previous YSRCP government of desecrating Tirumala, while also stating that the process of sanitization has already commenced.

BJP leader and former TTD Board Member Bhanuprakash Reddy condemned the alleged use of animal fat in the Tirupati Prasadam at the Sri Venkateswara Temple. He announced plans to file a complaint against the previous YSRCP government, led by former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. Reddy asserted that during Jagan’s tenure from 2019 to 2024, the TTD used pure cow ghee for laddu preparation, which was later adulterated.

AP Congress Committee president Y.S. Sharmila criticised both the ruling TDP and the opposition YSRCP for engaging in ‘heinous’ politics surrounding the Tirupati laddus. On Thursday, she demanded a CBI probe to determine whether animal fat was indeed used in the preparation of the sweets.

  • Atishi’s Task Cut Out: To Expedite Pending Public Welfare Policies Before Delhi Assembly Polls |

NEW DELHI: When Atishi takes oath as Delhi Chief Minister on September 21, she will enter history books as being only the third woman to accomplish the feat after BJP’s Sushma Swaraj and Congress’ Sheila Dikshit. Atishi’s elevation to the top post comes at a crucial juncture for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which is looking to return to power in the Delhi Assembly polls early next year as well as for the government, which will have to fast-track pending policies and schemes for public welfare.

The senior leader will have her task cut out after assuming office and will be running against time to ensure implementation of schemes like Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana, Electric Vehicle Policy 2.0 and doorstep delivery of services among others. However, Atishi is not new to rising to such situations. Her induction into the cabinet also happened when the government was going through testing times following the arrest of deputy chief minister and the then Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s trusted lieutenant, Manish Sisodia last year in excise policy case by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Atishi, along with Saurabh Bharadwaj, joined the Delhi government following the resignation of Sisodia and Satyendar Jain. Atishi, 43, took to governance, heading 13 major portfolios in the Kejriwal government, including those of finance, revenue, education and public works department.
She was unanimously chosen as the chief minister-designate during the legislature party meeting here on Tuesday.

Even though Atishi joined AAP in 2013, she stayed in the background working as an adviser to the government on education-related policies and made a foray into electoral politics only in 2019 when she unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha polls from East Delhi against BJP’s Gautam Gambhir. Before venturing into active politics, Atishi dropped her surname Marlena, a portmanteau of Marx and Lenin, since she wanted that her political affiliations should not be misconstrued.

In 2020, Atishi again contested elections, this time the Delhi Assembly polls, and was elected as an MLA from Kalkaji. The fact that she enjoys the confidence of Kejriwal and Sisodia paved the way for her to succeed Kejriwal. Atishi’s parents Vijay Singh and Tripta Wahi were Delhi University professors. She received her Bachelor’s degree in History from Delhi University’s St Stephen’s College and topped her batch.

She also holds postgraduate degrees in Education and History from the University of Oxford.

  • ‘Completely Unwarranted’: India On Summons To Govt In Khalistani Terrorist Pannun’s Murder Plot |

India on Thursday strongly reacted to summons issued by a US court to the Indian government over the civil suit filed by pro-Khalistan separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun alleging a plot to assassinate him. This included the recent killing of a prominent leader of the Khalistan movement, Hardeep Singh Nijjar, in British Columbia.

Besides the Indian government, Pannun also sued several senior intelligence officials, including National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, former R&AW chief Samant Goel, R&AW agent Vikram Yadav, and Indian businessman Nikhil Gupta. As per the summons, a reply has been sought within 21 days.

Reacting to Pannun’s lawsuit against the Indian government in the US over an ‘assassination’ attempt, New Delhi said that the summons was “completely unwarranted.” Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that this particular case has been lodged, but it doesn’t change our views about the underlying situation.

“As we’ve said earlier, these are completely unwarranted and unsubstantiated imputations. Now that this particular case has been lodged, It doesn’t change our views about the underlying situation. I would only invite your attention to the person behind this particular case whose antecedents are well known. I would also underline the fact that the organization so-called that this person represents is an unlawful organization, has been declared as such under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act of 1967 and it has been done so on account of its involvement in anti-national and subversive activities aimed at disrupting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India,” Misri said during the afternoon briefing.

Pannun, designated as a terrorist by India, is seeking damages from India’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, former R&AW chief Samant Goel, R&AW officer Vikram Yadav, and Nikhil Gupta, accused of attempting to murder Pannun. Gupta is currently being held in a Brooklyn prison awaiting trial. According to the Times of India, Pannun’s lawsuit, filed in a New York federal district court, claims the Indian government was involved in the assassination plots. India has denied any involvement.

Nijjar was gunned down outside his gurdwara in Surrey, B.C., in June. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in September 2023 that the assassination appears to have been ordered by India. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has charged four Indian nationals residing in Canada with Nijjar’s murder.

One of the defendants in Pannun’s lawsuit is Nikhil Gupta, who is currently held in a Brooklyn prison while awaiting trial for his alleged involvement in a murder-for-hire plot. The other officials—Vikram Yadav, Samant Goel, and Ajit Doval—remain in India and have not been charged. “While this action is only indicting the foot soldiers, this lawsuit is really against the government of India,” Canada based The Globe and Mail quoted Pannun as saying.

  • Amidst the filth and stench, Muktidham is crying out, “Sir! When will you free me…”

Devendra Dadsena, Pathariya. Muktidham is a place where the last rites of a person who dies after a lifetime of penance are performed. The law says that it should be a place where there is comfort, peace, and cleanliness. But the process is completely opposite in the Muktidham of Pathariya Nagar Panchayat. Here, first of all, dirt is seen, after which the mind becomes restless and then irritation is born about the system. Read this also: Threatened to shoot a contractor by calling him a henchman of Lawrence Bishnoi gang, police arrested the accused

Muktidham located in ward number 9 of Patharia Nagar Panchayat is the main Muktidham of the city. But instead of Muktidham, it looks more like a garbage dump. The garbage coming out of the houses of the Nagar Panchayat is being dumped in Muktidham. Not only this, the garbage coming out of the market attached to Muktidham, remains of chicken-mutton, peels of vegetables are also being dumped. This is spreading filth as well as foul smell. In such a situation, it becomes troublesome for people to spend even a few moments in Muktidham while performing the last rites.

Let us tell you that 16 years have passed since the formation of Nagar Panchayat, but no responsible person has paid attention to the arrangements of Muktidham. Even the windows and doors of the mortuary attached to the mortuary have been uprooted by anti-social elements. Due to lack of maintenance, the mortuary has become a den of drunkards and gamblers, so when the need arises for post-mortem of a dead body, it is being done in the open.

    People tired of talking

Khelawan Sahu, a resident of Patharia town, says that we are tired of talking to the officers and employees of the Nagar Panchayat. The Muktidham in Ward 9 is the main Muktidham of the town, but still garbage is constantly being dumped there.

    will give instructions for cleaning

Pathariya Nagar Panchayat CMO Anuradha Rajmani said on the issue that it has been only a few days since I came here. I will find out about this. I will issue instructions to the employees to not throw garbage in Muktidham and to keep it clean.
