  • ‘No Mechanism To Gag…’: Speaker’s Rejoinder After Rahul Alleges ‘Mic Muted’ |

New Delhi: The Lok Sabha session on Friday commenced with a tumultuous start, prompting its adjournment until Monday as the opposition voiced its protest in the House regarding the NEET paper leak issue, urging for an immediate discussion on the matter. However, the Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, claimed his microphone was turned off while he called for a ‘respectful’ debate on the issue to support the students.

The Congress shared a viral video depicting an exchange between the Congress MP and the Speaker. Rahul Gandhi said his microphone was turned off and asked the speaker to turn it back on. The speaker quickly responded with a sharp reply.

Speaker Om Birla told him to follow the rules of the House and wait to discuss them after the Motion of Thanks to the President’s speech.

Meanwhile, Gandhi continued to insist and said, “We wanted to give a joint message to the students of India, on behalf of the opposition as well as the government, that we consider this an important issue. So, we thought that to respect students, we should have a NEET discussion today, a dedicated discussion,” reported news agency IANS.

In response to LoP’s allegations, Birla said that he does not possess a microphone switch.

“I don’t have any buttons to switch off the microphone. There was a similar set-up earlier. There is no mechanism to gag the microphone,” the speaker added.

The Congress shared the video and captioned the post, “Raised the issue of NEET—switched off the mic.”

In the footage, Gandhi is seen addressing the house when suddenly his microphone was muted; later, the same happened to senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge.

  • NEET-UG Paper Leak Case: CBI Arrests Principal, Vice Principal Of School In Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh |

In connection with the NEET-UG paper leak case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday arrested the vice principal and principal of a school in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh. The National Testing Agency (NTA) named Ehsanul Haque, the principal of Oasis School, the city coordinator for Hazaribagh for the medical entrance exam on May 5. Officials said that Vice Principal Imtiaz Alam was designated as the NTA’s observer and the centre coordinator at the Oasis School. They also mentioned that five additional district residents are being questioned by the CBI regarding the paper leak case.

Following extensive questioning, the federal probe agency reportedly took Haque and Alam into custody. Both accused were under investigation by the Bihar Police’s Economic Offences Unit (EOU), which had previously investigated the case. During a raid on the solver gang’s hideout, the team discovered burnt NEET-UG question papers, officials said.

The EOU claimed in a statement that the notorious Sanjeev Kumar alias Lutan Mukhiya gang obtained the “leaked” NEET-UG question paper from the Oasis School in Hazaribagh. It  asserted that the investigators had matched a partially burned question paper discovered in the Patna safe house with the NTA’s reference question paper, confirming the leak’s origin. However, officials said they were unable to determine who was behind the alleged paper leak.

The investigation also revealed that the authorities in Hazaribagh did not properly follow the established guidelines for opening the question paper boxes. In media interviews, Haque claimed that the box containing the question papers could not be opened because the digital lock, which was supposed to unlock automatically, malfunctioned.

According to Haque, he then contacted the NTA, who instructed him to open the box with a cutter. The boxes containing question papers have two locks: a manual one that must be opened with a key and cutter, and a digital lock that opens with a beep 45 minutes before the exam.

The CBI filed six FIRs in the NEET-UG paper leak case, including its own FIR based on a reference from the Union Education Ministry and five from the states where it took over the investigation. The investigation agency has taken over one case in each of Bihar and Gujarat, as well as three in Rajasthan.

On Thursday, the CBI made its first arrests in the NEET-UG paper leak case, detaining two people in Patna and recording statements from three candidates in Gujarat who allegedly asked for help to pass the exam.

NTA conducts NEET-UG for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other related courses at government and private institutions across the country. This year’s exam took place on May 5 at 4,750 locations in 571 cities, including 14 abroad. Over 23 lakh candidates took the test.

The first CBI FIR was filed on Sunday, a day after the ministry announced that it would hand over the investigation into alleged irregularities in exam administration to the central agency. A group of protesting students demanded an investigation by the CBI.

  • Audit revealed: Health department was kind to Mokshit Corporation during Congress rule, scam of 660 crores exposed

Satya Rajput, Raipur. How the CGMSC of the Health Department has emptied the treasury of Chhattisgarh through Mokshit Corporation during the Congress rule has come to light in the audit report of just two years. The amount of fraud is not a small amount, the amount of fraud is so huge that this amount can create a mountain. If the investigation is done properly, then from the officer to the minister, everyone will come under the heat of investigation. According to the audit report, fraud of crores has been done. This entire matter was exposed by Lalluram.com.

The audit of two years revealed the truth

When the audit team scrutinized the documents of the financial year 2022-24 and 2023-24 regarding the supply of medicines and equipment of CGMSC, the company had made purchases worth Rs 660 crore without budget allocation, which has been caught by the audit team.

I made this mistake in an attempt to spend it

The audit has found that in the last two years, rules and regulations were also flouted in order to use the chemicals and equipment purchased in excess of the requirement. Chemicals and machines were supplied to hospitals which did not require them. Chemicals were supplied to 776 primary health centres in the state, out of which more than 350 primary health centres were such in which no technical, manpower and storage facilities were available.

    Purchase without baseline survey

According to the audit team, DHS issued demand letters for equipment and reagents without conducting a baseline survey and gap analysis in health care facilities.

Provision of demand letter but it was ignored

The procurement agency sent healthcare equipment and reagents to 766 primary health centres in single quantities of each item without ensuring the facility is ready. This improper procurement has resulted in high-priced equipment lying unused and the quality of reagents may also be poor.

The audit will unearth more buried secrets

In the letter written to the Health Department on behalf of the audit, it has been clearly stated that a detailed audit is being planned, in which the company, DHS, NHM and regional level health facilities will be audited. These departments have been asked to be directed to cooperate in the audit. Along with this, a suitable date and time has also been asked for conducting the audit.

Audit review meeting will be held on this day

After the disclosure in the CAG audit report, as per the letter issued by the Audit Department to the Health Department, the Health Department has called a meeting on July 2 to review the Health Department audit report, in which the Health Director, CGMSC General Manager, Mission Director National Health Mission have been called with all the documents related to the audit.

    Hospital board demands action

State President of Hospital Board, Dr. Rakesh Gupta said that the matter is sensitive. Malpractice in medicines, machines, chemicals in health care is dangerous for patients. Our demand is that this should be investigated.

    Inquiry committee constituted

Chhattisgarh Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said that we have formed an investigation team. Four to five IAS level officers are investigating. The report will come soon, we will take action based on that. In this case, the payment of more than Rs 360 crore to the company that supplied the medicine and equipment has been stopped.

    questions arising

The big question is why was the health department kind to Mokshit Corporation?

On whose orders the rules and regulations were ignored and Mokshit Corporation was given benefit?

Who all are involved in this looting along with emptying the treasury?

This has never happened before,” Dhankhar said, adjourning the proceedings until 2 p.m. RS chairman Dhankhar’s remarks came at a time when opposition members were creating ruckus during the debate on the motion of thanks to the President’s speech. The opposition has demanded a debate on the issue.

What Led To Adjournment Of Rajya Sabha Proceedings Twice?

This was the day’s second adjournment. Previously, the House was adjourned until 12 noon. During the debate on the Motion of Thanks for the President’s Address, opposition members raised slogans as BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi spoke.

The House Leader intervened, stating that the opposition was attempting to hold the House “hostage” and disrupt proceedings. He stated that the Congress did not raise the issue of NEET during the meeting of the Business Advisory Council, but rather in the House.

“This demonstrates that their intention is simply to disrupt the proceedings. “This was predetermined and pre-decided,” he said, adding that the Congress has not named a speaker for the Motion of Thanks discussion.

Nadda said that the government is committed and will respond to the NEET issue. While Nadda was speaking, several opposition members approached his seat and raised slogans.

President Droupadi Murmu addressed a joint session of Parliament. Following the President’s address, a motion of thanks was introduced in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha today, which the MPs were debating. During this discussion, the opposition in both houses erupted in outrage over the NEET controversy.

What Did Rajya Sabha Chairman Dhankar Said To LoP?

Dhankar expressed shock, saying, “Honourable Members, today has become so tainted in the history of the Indian Parliament that the Leader of the Opposition has come to the well.” This has never occurred before. I am both pained and shocked. The Indian parliamentary tradition will deteriorate to the point where the Leader of the Opposition and the Deputy Leader will both visit the well.

Kharge Says ‘It Was Rajya Sabha Chairman’s Mistake’

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge took potshots at Rajya Sabha chairman Jagdeep Dhankar, saying, “On entering the Well of Rajya Sabha, Rajya Sabha LoP Mallikarjun Kharge stated, “It was his (Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar’s) mistake…I went inside to attract his attention. Even so, he wasn’t looking… I drew attention. He was only focused on the ruling party. When I drew his attention according to the rules, he should have looked at me, but instead he deliberately ignored me to insult me. So, what was left for me? To attract attention, I would have to either go inside or shout very loudly.”

“So I’ll say that Chairman Sahab made a mistake. I believe he should not do this and should uphold the dignity of the Rajya Sabha…There have been large-scale scams, the NEET exam paper has been leaked, and lakhs of children are concerned. To draw attention to the people’s problem, we requested a specific discussion. We didn’t want to disturb anyone; all we wanted to do was raise the students’ concerns…But he didn’t give it a chance or even pay attention to it, which is why we had to do this,” he said.

  • Konark Sun Temple: Religious or Scientific? |

The Konark Sun Temple, located in Puri, Odisha, is an incredible ancient monument built over 12 years ago. This remarkable temple, constructed in 1250 AD by King Narasimhadeva I of the Ganga Dynasty, is made of sandstone and granite. It is designed so that the first rays of the sun illuminate its sanctum sanctorum. Recognized for its historical and architectural significance, the Konark Sun Temple was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984. At over 772 years old, it attracts tourists from around the world.

The Konark Sun Temple is a marvel of Eastern Indian architecture and a symbol of India’s heritage. This famous tourist spot features a massive temple dedicated to the Sun God. The name ‘Konark’ combines two words: ‘Kona’ meaning ‘Corner’ and ‘Arka’ meaning ‘Sun’, translating to ‘Sun of the Corner’. Positioned on the northeastern corner of Puri, the Konark Sun Temple is also known as Arka Khetra. It stands as a significant cultural and historical site, attracting visitors from around the world.

    Scientific aspect:

Many people would consider the wheel structure carved on the walls of the temple a mere representation of decorative architecture, but the fact is it is way more scientific than on may think. There is a story relating it, an old yogi was seen calculating the time using the essence of the wheels. This revealed that the wheel is a sundial and it depicts the time according to the movement of sunlight throughout the day.

The large sundial consists of 8 major spokes and similar 8 thin and minor spokes. The major ones divide the time of 24 hours into 8 parts, of 3 hours each and the minor spokes divide this 3 hours into 1.5 hours or 90 minutes each. Beads between the spokes divide the time further by 3 minutes each. But the question is when the sunlight crosses the temple? There is another similar sundial structure on the other side wall of the temple which is for another half of the day.

    What after the day?

The Temple also has 24 similar dials considered to be time calculating in the night and hence said as the moondials. The temple was built in the shape of a massive chariot with 7 horses tied to it, depicting the 7 days of a week. The Konark sun temple faced the turbulence of time and some big invaders trying to destroy the architectural site. It is said that the present-day structure of the temple is only the front half part. The major part has been destroyed which was the Garbhgrih structure according to the architectural plan.
