Raipur News: Raipur. The special court rejected the bail application of Vedmati Dariyo, the woman police station in-charge who was arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau on charges of taking a bribe of twenty thousand rupees. After hearing both the parties, the court ruled that from the observation of the case diary, it is prima facie evident that an economic crime has been committed. Considering the seriousness of the case, the bail application submitted by the applicant is rejected and cancelled.
Her bail application was heard on Tuesday in the court of Special Judge (FIR) and First Additional Sessions Judge Nidhi Sharma Tiwari. In the bail application submitted by the applicant, it was said that she has been falsely implicated. The applicant has no role in the alleged crime.
She is a government employee and a permanent resident of Chhattisgarh and there is no possibility of her absconding. The applicant is ready to abide by all the conditions imposed by the court if she is granted bail. Hence, it is requested that the benefit of bail be granted to her.
In the protest letter presented on behalf of the State Economic Offences Investigation Bureau Raipur, Deputy Director Prosecution Mithlesh Verma requested to cancel the bail application. Presenting the argument, he said that the applicant Preeti Banjare had reached the women’s police station with a complaint of harassment for dowry by her husband and in-laws. After counseling, money was demanded to register the crime.
The ACB has caught the accused red handed while taking a bribe of twenty thousand rupees from the applicant. The bribe amount has been seized from the accused in front of witnesses. The statement of the witnesses is yet to be recorded in the case, the accused can influence the witnesses if granted bail. Saying this, a request was made to cancel the bail application.
