  • Amid Bangladesh Unrest, Mamata Banerjee Opens Bengal’s Door For Refugees |

As violence continues to grip neighboring Bangladesh, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed her willingness to welcome refugees into the state. Speaking at the TMC’s ‘Martyrs Day’ rally in Kolkata on Sunday, she assured that Bengal will certainly provide shelter to those in need.

Banerjee cited the United Nations Resolution on refugees to justify her stance on the potential humanitarian crisis resulting from the severe law and order breakdown in Bangladesh over the past few days.

“I should not be speaking on the affairs of Bangladesh since that is a sovereign nation and whatever needs to be said on the issue is a subject matter of the Centre. But I can tell you this, if helpless people come knocking on the doors of Bengal, we will surely provide them shelter,” Banerjee said.

The Bengal CM drew an example from the past, noting how Assamese people were allowed to live in the Alipurduars area of North Bengal for a significant period during the Bodo conflict in the northeastern state.

“That’s because there is a United Nations Resolution to accommodate refugees in regions adjacent to those under turmoil,” the Bengal CM said.

Banerjee also urged the people of West Bengal to remain calm and not be provoked by the current situation in Bangladesh.

  • NEET-UG Result 2024 Indicates Massive Centre Level Irregularities? 12th Failed Student Scored Stunning Marks |

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has uploaded the NEET-UG result on its website. While the NTA has refused to re-conduct the exam which has been marred by controversies, a close look at the result indicates more mismanagement as exams may have been compromised at the centre levels. Earlier, a centre in Gujarat’s Godhra was supposed to be compromised but the results indicate that it may have happened at a broader level in many states.

The results show multiple students from single exam centres scoring more thatn 700 marks out of 720. The toppers forming clusters or coming from common exam centres have raised questions on the sanctity of the exam. The results released by the National Testing Agency on Saturday reveal that centres located in major coaching hubs performed exceptionally well. In contrast, centres under scrutiny for ‘paper leaks’ and other irregularities showed poor results. Over 2,000 candidates from centres in Sikar achieved scores exceeding 650 out of 720, and Kottayam, much like Kota, also had a significant number of high-scoring students.

What is interesting is that of the 50 NEET-UG exam centres having the highest percentage of candidates scoring above 650 marks, 37 centres are located in Rajasthan’s Sikar alone.

In a very surprising result, more than 20% of candidates from the Tagore PG College exam centre scored 600 marks or more. Those scoring 650+ are likely to get a government college. Of the 734 students who took the exam at Rohtak’s Model School Centre, one scored 700, 14 scored 650 or more and 30 students scored between 600-649.

Kottayam has ranked third in the country for top rank holders after Sikar and Kota in Rajasthan. Sikar gave 55 top rankers this time, Kota 35 and Kottayam 25. Kottayam’s Vidyananda Vidyabhavan, Junior Baselios English Medium School, and Chinmaya Vidyalaya exam centres have five aspirants with 700 and above marks and 29 who scored 650 and above.

Gujarat’s Unit-1 School of Engineering has surprised with 250 students out of the 1,968 scoring 600 and more and 12 students scoring 700 and more while one scored a perfect 720.

In another shocking detail, a netizen pointed out that a student scored 705 out of 720 in the NEET UG 2024 exam. However, the most surprising fact is that this student from Gujarat scored only 352 out of 700 marks in the Class 12 Science board exam conducted by the Gujarat Board (GSHSEB) and had failed in several exams.

  • Amit Shah launched the BJP’s election campaign in Jharkhand

Ranchi. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday sounded the bugle for BJP’s campaign for the Jharkhand assembly elections in Ranchi. While interacting with the workers in the BJP’s extended working committee meeting held at Prabhat Tara Maidan here, he called for overthrowing the current Hemant Soren government of the state and forming a full majority government of the BJP. Amit Shah said that the JMM-Congress-RJD government led by Hemant Soren is the most corrupt government in the country. The leaders and workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party will go door-to-door and deliver documents of corruption, scams and breach of promises of this government. In this government, a MNREGA scam of one thousand crores, a mining scam of one thousand crores, a land scam of 300 crores took place. In Jharkhand, three hundred crores were found from the house of a Congress MP and 30 crores from the house of the PA of a minister of the Hemant government.

This is the money looted from the public and collected through corruption. The height of shamelessness is that Congress is going to give ticket again to that minister who is in jail, from whose PA’s house 30 crores were recovered. Holding the state CM Hemant Soren responsible for Bangladeshi infiltration in Jharkhand, the Union Home Minister said that he calls himself a tribal CM, but instead of worrying about the tribals, he is giving protection to the infiltrators who loot their land through land and love jihad. The number of tribals in Jharkhand is continuously decreasing. Infiltrators are robbing the rights of the tribals. They are getting jobs in their place and Hemant Soren is only worried about increasing his vote bank. He promised that as soon as the BJP government is formed in the state, a white paper will be issued on the matter of population and it will be ensured that the tribals get protection. It will be ensured that their population does not decrease and they get the real benefit of reservation.

Amit Shah said that for Hemant Soren, tribal welfare means only the welfare of his family. It is the BJP that made Babulal Marandi, a tribal’s son, the first CM of the state. Not only this, tribal sister Draupadi Murmu reached the highest post of the President of the country. Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government included Santali in the Eighth Schedule and for the first time created the Ministry of Tribal Welfare at the Center. He said that if anyone has cared the most about the backward classes along with tribals and Dalits, it is the Narendra Modi government. Our government ensured 27 percent reservation for OBCs. A backward class commission was formed and 27 percent backward classes were given place in Narendra Modi’s cabinet. No government in the country has done this till date. Amit Shah said that before Narendra Modi’s government, Congress ruled at the Center for 10 years, but it constantly neglected Jharkhand.

In the 10 years of Congress rule, only 84 thousand crores were given to Jharkhand for development schemes, whereas Narendra Modi’s government gave 3 lakh 84 thousand crores for the development of this state in the last ten years. Jharkhand was made by BJP and BJP will also develop it. Jharkhand has always been a state suffering from Naxalism, but Narendra Modi freed Jharkhand and Bihar from Naxalism in ten years. The BJP leader said that we are grateful to the people of the country that they made Narendra Modi the Prime Minister of the country for the third time by giving BJP continuous victory in the three elections of 2014, 2019 and 2024. Taking a dig at the Congress, he said that the government was formed by the BJP in the country, but the leaders of the losing party Congress are displaying such arrogance as if they have got two-thirds majority. The people of Jharkhand also made BJP win 9 out of 14 seats. BJP got lead in 52 out of 81 assembly seats here.

This figure shows that in the coming elections, a BJP government with full majority is going to be formed in the state. The Union Home Minister, while instilling enthusiasm among the BJP workers about the elections, said that the basis of our victory in the elections is not the leaders, but the booth workers. Union Agriculture Minister and Jharkhand BJP election in-charge Shivraj Singh Chauhan, while addressing the gathering, said that the Hemant Soren government has made the state number one in the country in terms of murder, robbery, rape, crime and corruption. This government has not fulfilled a single promise made before the elections. The assistant policemen whose service they had promised to make permanent were lathi-charged. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Minister Annapurna Devi, Jharkhand BJP in-charge Laxmikant Bajpayee, Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth, Jharkhand State BJP President Babulal Marandi, former CM Arjun Munda, Leader of Opposition Amar Kumar Bauri and other leaders also addressed the gathering.
