  • Haryana Assembly Election 2024: Check Polling Date, Nomination, Voting Time, Result Counting Details |

    The Election Commission Of India today announced the schedule for Haryana assembly elections. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, along with the two Election Commissioners – Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, held the press conference to announce the dates for assembly elections.

    In Haryana, this year assembly elections will take place in single phase on October 1 to elect the 90 members.  The counting of the votes will take place on October 4. The tenure of the Haryana Legislative Assembly is set to conclude on November 3, 2024.

    Voters In Haryana

    There are 2.01 crore voters in Haryana of which 1.06 crores are male, 0.95 crores female voters, 40.95 lakhs are young voters and 4.52 lakhs are first-time voters. There are 20,629 polling booths in Haryana.

    The previous Assembly elections took place in October 2019, resulting in a coalition government formed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP). Manohar Lal Khattar was appointed as the Chief Minister following the election.

    On March 12, 2024, the alliance between the BJP and JJP came to an end, leading to the resignation of Manohar Lal Khattar as Chief Minister. Nayab Singh Saini was appointed as the new Chief Minister on the same day. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP, which had secured all 10 seats in Haryana in 2019, managed to retain 5 seats, while the remaining 5 were won by the Indian National Congress.

    Bhopal. The city’s daughter Anjana Yadav has achieved another milestone in the field of mountaineering. She has hoisted the tricolour by climbing Mount Kosciusko, the highest peak of the Australian continent. She reached the peak at 9:05 in the morning.

    According to Anjana Yadav, our team left for the summit from the last camp at 2 am. During this time the weather temperature was -4 to -5 degrees Celsius. There were a total of 11 members in our team. Which included five men and six women. The leader of this team was Narendra Yadav of Haryana. This team included mountaineers from four states, which included Anjana Yadav of MP, Chhattisgarh, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

    This entire campaign was organized by Mission Possible, a Delhi based company. Anjana said that I wanted to greet the countrymen on the occasion of 78th Independence Day by reaching the highest peak of Australia. That is why I participated in this campaign. For which I feel proud.

    She practices by climbing the hills of the village

    Mountaineer Anjana Yadav is a resident of Semri village in Raisen district. Anjana said that on last Independence Day, 15 August, the tricolour was hoisted on Europe’s highest peak Mount Elbus which is 18510 feet high. There are many small mountains around Anjana’s village Semri Diwanganj, which include Sonagiri, Halali Dam etc., which helped her a lot and she prepared at these places. Apart from this, she practiced by climbing Bhopal’s Manuabhan Tekri several times. She said that she cycles 10 km every day and goes to the gym.

    Even before this, Anjana Yadav conquered Himachal’s Unam Peak of 20 thousand feet on 15 August 2021. After this, there are Mount Friendship Peak 17,346 feet, Mount Raino Peak 16,023 feet, Mount Everest Base. She has also climbed and hoisted the flag at 17,598 feet, Mount Goku Peak 17,929 feet and Mount Patalshu Peak 13,800 feet. During this, Anjana Yadav said that I have a desire to hoist the tricolor on many mountains in the future too.

  • Kolkata Rape-Murder Case: Prime Accused Taken for Medical Examination Amid Protests |

    In a significant development in the RG Kar Medical College rape-murder case, Sanjay Roy, the prime accused, was taken for a medical examination on Friday. The crime, which involved the rape and murder of a postgraduate trainee doctor while she was on duty at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata, occurred on August 9. The arrest of Roy came swiftly, just six hours after a seven-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted to investigate the heinous crime.

    On Thursday, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials attempted to take Roy to ESI Joka for a medical checkup. However, the van transporting him had to turn back midway due to intense protests by doctors at the hospital, which raised significant safety concerns. Subsequently, Roy was taken to Command Hospital, but the facility declined to conduct the medical examination. Eventually, Roy was brought to BR Singh Hospital in Sealdah, where the medical process was successfully completed.

    Nationwide Protests And Strike By Medical Community

    The brutal incident has sparked outrage across the medical community in India. Doctors and medical students, particularly junior doctors at Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad, have staged protests demanding justice for the victim. In response to the tragedy, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has announced a nationwide withdrawal of services by doctors practicing modern medicine. According to an official statement from the IMA, the strike is scheduled to begin at 6 AM on Saturday and will last until 6 AM on Sunday.
    In accordance with Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault, the identity of the victim has not been disclosed to protect her privacy. 

    This tragic event has not only shocked the nation but also led to widespread calls for stronger measures to protect the safety and dignity of healthcare professionals across India.

  • ACB-EOW conducts major raid in disproportionate assets case, simultaneous raids at 17 locations in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Jharkhand

    Shivam Mishra, Raipur. Anti Corruption Bureau/EOW has taken major action in the case of disproportionate assets in Chhattisgarh. Raids have been conducted at the locations of suspended IAS Sameer Bishnoi, Ranu Sahu and State Administrative Service officer Saumya Chaurasia. According to information received from sources, more than 17 teams of EOW have raided different places in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Jharkhand. A big team of EOW is engaged in investigation on the case of disproportionate assets of all three accused. Investigation is being done at the locations of the accused whose assets are disproportionate to their income worth crores.

    According to highly placed sources of ACB, raids are being conducted in Bhilai, Raigarh, Korba, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Bangalore in the disproportionate assets case. According to sources, 20 special teams of ACB/EOW have been prepared in the disproportionate assets case, out of which 16 teams are taking action in Chhattisgarh and 4 teams in other states. Information about assets worth more than crores of rupees has come to light from the hideouts of the accused. EOW’s plan for raids was ready in the entire state two days before Independence Day.

    Raid at suspended IAS Samir Bishnoi’s in-laws’ house

    According to sources, during the investigation of disproportionate assets, it was found that some part of the disproportionate assets of suspended IAS Sameer Bishnoi is related to his in-laws. After which raids were conducted at Sameer Bishnoi’s in-laws’ house in Anupgarh and Hanumangarh, Rajasthan. When the team reached Sameer Bishnoi’s in-laws’ house, they were stunned to see the property spread over tens of acres. Sources say that Sameer Bishnoi has several acres of land in Rajasthan and has invested in cotton and ice factories. Currently, a large team of EOW is taking action at Sameer’s in-laws’ house. Also, raids are going on at the Bangalore house of State Administrative Service officer Saumya Chaurasia and raids are going on at Saumya Chaurasia’s locations in Jharkhand.

    Not only this, raids have also been conducted at the hideouts of businessmen who were close to these officers in the state. Those who were directly/indirectly associated with coal levy or the business of Saumya Chaurasia, Ranu Sahu and Sameer Bishnoi. That is why the team has taken action at the hideouts of hoteliers, coal traders, contractors and land traders.

    Let us tell you that suspended IAS Sameer Bishnoi, Ranu Sahu and Saumya Chaurasia have been in jail for the last two years. In the coal levy case in Chhattisgarh, ED first raided the hideouts of the accused. After which the involvement of Sameer Bishnoi, Ranu and Saumya was found. Meanwhile, the BJP’s women’s wing will hold a candlelight march to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s residence, also in response to the vandalism incident. 

    A mob entered the premises of the Hospital and wreaked havoc as they were demanding the arrest of all those involved in the rape and murder of the 31-year-old trainee doctor inside the establishment. 

    Mamata Banerjee To Join On August 17 

    West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will join the protests on Saturday, calling for the death penalty for those accused in the rape and murder case of the trainee doctor.  

    Banerjee has also announced a protest to seek justice for the Kolkata trainee doctor, who was assaulted and killed at RG Kar College and Hospital. She has urged the Central Bureau of Investigation, which has taken over the case from the Kolkata Police, to ensure that justice is served by the following Sunday. 

    IMA’s Nationwide Strike 

    Amid the political rallies, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has announced a 24-hour nationwide strike from 6AM on August 17 to protest against the rape-murder incident and the vandalism at the RG Kar Hospital. The withdrawal of services will be limited to non-emergency services.
