  • After her husband’s death, she gathered courage… took a pledge to do social service, is teaching her daughters the art of self-defense

Palak Anand present with the girls learning fencing.

    Highlights

Indore’s Palak Narwariya has become an example of service. She is teaching weapons to women and girls. Palak wants to make her daughters fully capable.

Indore. These days, the entire country is in turmoil after the rape of girls in Bengal and Maharashtra. Along with giving strict punishment to the accused, people are demanding that girls should be taught self-defense skills. But in Indore, Palak Anand has been teaching girls fencing, dand and pata fighting for free for the last two years. After the death of her husband, Palak took a pledge of social service and today she has become an example of inspiration.

365 women and girls were trained

So far she has taught 365 women and girls how to use weapons, including girls of 5 years to women of 55 years. She believes that daughters should be made capable so that they can protect themselves as well as their families.

33-year-old Palak Narwaria is working on women empowerment in the society. In the year 2012, she got married to Anand Narwaria. In those days, she used to work as a nurse. A few years later, Palak Narwaria opened her own diagnosis center. Palak Narwaria’s husband was very active in social service. Palak’s husband tried to do something for the society. He wanted his daughter to learn self-defense. But Palak stayed far away from social service. She only wanted to educate her daughter. Palak’s husband passed away in the year 2021. After this, she opened the ‘Anand Hai’ organization. Initially, she started helping people through ambulance. She transported unclaimed bodies and needy patients to their destination free of cost through ambulance. Later, Palak Narwaria provided relief to the people through blood donation camps. Currently, Palak Narwaria’s 10-year-old daughter Unnati also helps in social service.

    Determined to empower all daughters

Palak said that my husband used to tell me to teach self-defense to my daughter. Later, when I realized the need for it, I thought of empowering not only my daughter but all the daughters so that no harm comes to my or anyone else’s daughter.

Camps will be organized at 11 places on October 1

The organization will organize free self-defense camps at 11 places in Anand city on October 1. In the free self-defense camps, students will be taught how to use sword, stick and pata. Palak said that these camps will be organized so that daughters do not have to depend on anyone for their safety. According to Palak, by learning the art of weapons, daughters will be able to protect themselves as well as their families.

The name of the institution was kept as ‘Anand’ because

After the death of her husband in the year 2021, Palak was unable to accept this. After this, she opened an organization named Anand. People used to tell Palak that Anand is no longer in this world. Palak kept denying this. Palak always believed that Anand is always with her. To prove this, the name of the organization was kept as ‘Anand Hai’. With this sentence, Anand feels present all the time.

Social service started with opposition to bad practices

Palak said that in many places, after the death of the husband, the woman is considered untouchable. No one touches her for a few days. No one talks to her. She is kept in isolation. I have seen my grandmother, mother etc. falling prey to this evil practice. After my husband’s death, I too was not untouched.

    made people aware

According to Palak, after this I thought that I will not let other women fall prey to this evil practice. For this I started making people aware that this practice will not give peace to the husband’s soul. This practice will not benefit anyone. Then many people became aware to give up this evil practice.

  • Bharat Bandh Today: Reason For August 21 Strike, Who Called It And What Services Will Stay Open – Find Out |

The Bharat Bandh scheduled for August 21, 2024, has been organised as a nationwide protest by the Reservation Bachao Sangharsh Samiti against a recent Supreme Court ruling concerning reservations for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). The ruling, which allows states to create sub-categories within these groups, has sparked widespread controversy. The apex court, while creating the sub-categories, said, “Those who really need it should get priority in reservation.” The primary objective of the Bharat Bandh is to challenge this ruling and demand its reversal, emphasizing the need to protect the integrity of the reservation system as it stands.

    The Supreme Court’s Ruling

The Supreme Court’s decision to allow sub-categorization within SC/ST reservations has led to significant unrest. The court ruled that states could prioritise reservations for sub-groups within SC/STs that are more disadvantaged, stating, “Those who really need it should get priority in reservation.” This decision has been met with strong opposition, with many arguing that it could dilute the benefits intended for SC/ST communities as a whole.

    Nationwide Support and Participation

The Bharat Bandh has garnered support from various social and political organisations across the country. SC/ST groups in Rajasthan have been particularly vocal, and their participation is expected to be significant. The protest has also found backing from political leaders who have expressed concern over the potential long-term implications of the Supreme Court’s ruling.

Bharat Bandh On August 21: Security Measures In Place

In anticipation of potential unrest, authorities have implemented extensive security measures across the country. Senior police officials have conducted meetings via video conference to coordinate efforts and ensure public safety. According to news reports, divisional commissioners, district magistrates, and senior police officers have been instructed to maintain law and order throughout the bandh. Western Uttar Pradesh, identified as a particularly sensitive area, has seen heightened security, with additional police forces deployed to prevent any incidents of violence. According to a report by The Times of India, police have been asked to increase deployment across all the districts of Rajasthan, to avoid any tension.

Bharat Bandh: What Will Stay Open

Despite the expected disruptions, essential services are likely to remain operational. Public transportation and private offices may face closures, but emergency services such as ambulances will continue to function. Residents in areas affected by the bandh are advised to stay informed through local news and official channels to navigate the disruptions. Here’s what will stay open:

        • As per news reports, government offices, schools, banks, and colleges will stay open.
        • Ambulance services, emergency, hospitals and medical services
        • Pharmacies will continue to function
        • Police services to stay active

He said, “Regarding this, the people of these classes have given a memorandum to the government today under the ‘Bharat Bandh’ and have made a strong demand to abolish the changes made in reservation through constitutional amendment, etc., which an appeal is made to be done in a disciplined and peaceful manner without any violence.”

Mayawati said, “The constitutional right to reservation given to the OBC community along with SC-ST is the result of the continuous struggle of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the true messiah of these classes. Bharat Bandh: How much will be the impact in UP? What will open and what will remain closed during Bharat Bandh, know everything

After 8 years BSP will show its power on the streets

Let us tell you that after almost 8 years, Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party will come out on the streets on Wednesday to show its strength. BSP supremo Mayawati has appealed to the party workers to join the Bharat Bandh in protest against the Supreme Court’s decision of sub-classification in SC/ST reservation.

BSP hopes to get a new lease of life

Mayawati has been attacking other parties for a long time over the Supreme Court’s decision and their silence on sub-categorization in reservation. Mayawati’s bet seems to be absolutely correct, because BSP has decided to protest on the streets over the court’s decision to bring its core voters back to its side. If political analysts are to be believed, this decision of BSP and Mayawati is expected to revive the party.

    BSP protest in 2016

Let us tell you that BSP, which mostly stays away from protests and agitations, wants to send a message to its core voters through this demonstration that the party still stands with its people with full strength. It is worth noting that in the year 2016, BSP had taken to the streets to protest against the indecent remarks made by Dayashankar Singh, a minister in the BJP government and the then vice-president of the BJP, on Mayawati.

“Going on a train is a nightmare. In 2nd or 3rd class, people without tickets will occupy your seat and block the washroom. Even in the so-called pride of India, the Vande Bharat train, you might find a cockroach in your food. I suggest avoiding trains; opt for a bus or flight instead. Although it’s costlier, it’s safer.” another user comment read.
