Ranchi. In Jharkhand, the Enforcement Directorate i.e. ED has got another big success. ED conducted raids at nine places in the state on Monday, recovering cash worth more than Rs 30 crore. Cash worth Rs 30 crore has been found from the house of Jahangir, a servant of Sanjeev Lal, a veteran leader of the state Congress and personal secretary of the state Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam. Apart from this, ED also raided the houses of Sanjeev Lal’s close contractor Munna Singh, Road Construction Department engineer Vikas Kumar and Kuldeep Minj. Apart from this, raids were conducted at three more places.
30 crores in cash was found at the house of Jahangir, servant of the minister’s private secretary Sanjeev, and more than 3 crores in cash was found at the house of his close friend Munna. When the ED team recovered the mountain of notes, six note counting machines and cash vans were called. Despite this, counting of notes continued till late evening. Exactly two years before this, on May 6, 2022, ED had raided the house of Jharkhand IAS officer Pooja Singhal and then it had found cash worth about Rs 20 crore. After this, cash worth more than Rs 300 crore was recovered in a raid at liquor businessman Dheeraj Sahu’s house.
However, after the ED action, Minister Alamgir Alam said that Sanjeev Lal is a government employee and has previously been the private secretary of two ministers. He was appointed on the basis of experience only. He said that ED is taking its action, after that we will see what happens. It is noteworthy that Sanjeev Lal had earlier been the private secretary of BJP leader and state government minister CP Singh. CP Singh said that Sanjeev was his personal secretary but no complaint was received against him at that time.
However, on February 22, 2023, ED raided 24 locations of Rural Development Department Chief Engineer Virendra Ram. Apart from the companies of Virendra Ram, assets worth Rs 100 crore were revealed. Jewelery worth Rs 1.5 crore and about Rs 30 lakh in cash were found. ED had raided in the bribery case registered against Virendra Ram.

Addressing a public meeting in Nabarangpur, Odisha, Prime Minister Modi said – Today mountains of notes are being found in the neighboring state of Jharkhand. People are saying that Modi is catching stolen goods there. Now you tell me, if I stop their theft, stop their earning, stop their loot, will they abuse Modi or not? But should I do this work or not? Should I save your rightful money or not?
