  • Does Your Car Need Air Purifier? Check 5 Reasons To Have It | Auto News

Air pollution has become a concerning issue globally, affecting not only outdoor environments but also the air inside our homes and vehicles. While many people have started using air purifiers in their homes to combat indoor air pollution, the necessity of air purifiers in cars is often overlooked. However, with the rise in awareness about the harmful effects of polluted air on health, the importance of air purifiers in vehicles is gaining attention.
When you are driving, especially in heavy traffic or congested areas, your vehicle and those around you are constantly emitting harmful gases and particulate matter. These pollutants can enter the cabin of your car, leading to a buildup of polluted air inside. This situation is further worsened by factors like dust, smoke, bacteria, viruses, and allergens present in the environment.

Reasons To Use Air Purifier In Car

An air purifier in your car plays a crucial role in improving air quality and protecting your health. Here are some key reasons why air purifiers are necessary in cars:

    1. Reducing Pollutants: An air purifier effectively filters out pollutants like dust, smoke, pollen, bacteria, and viruses from the air inside your car. This helps in reducing the concentration of harmful particles that you breathe in while driving.

    2. Removing Allergens: For individuals with allergies or respiratory conditions like asthma, polluted air can trigger discomfort and health issues. An air purifier removes allergens from the air, creating a cleaner and safer environment for sensitive individuals.

    3. Neutralizing Odors: In addition to pollutants, air purifiers can also eliminate unpleasant odors inside the car. Whether it’s smoke, food smells, or other odorous substances, an air purifier can neutralize these odors, enhancing the overall driving experience.

    4. Protecting Against Health Risks: Prolonged exposure to polluted air can lead to serious health problems, including respiratory issues, allergies, asthma, and even cardiovascular diseases. By purifying the air inside your car, an air purifier helps in reducing these health risks and promoting a healthier driving environment.

    5. Enhancing Driving Comfort: Clean and fresh air inside the car contributes to a more comfortable and enjoyable driving experience. It can also improve focus and alertness, especially during long journeys or in challenging driving conditions.

Many car manufacturers are now offering built-in air purifiers as part of their vehicle features. Additionally, there are portable and compact air purifiers specifically designed for use in cars, allowing drivers to enjoy cleaner air regardless of the vehicle model they own.

  • India’s Service Activity Growth In April Among Fastest In 14 Years: PMI | Economy News

New Delhi: India’s services sector growth eased slightly in April but growth of new business and output remained sharp and among the fastest in 14 years amid favourable economic conditions and strong demand, a monthly survey said on Monday.

The seasonally adjusted HSBC India Services Business Activity Index fell from 61.2 in March to 60.8 in April, highlighting one of the strongest growth rates seen in just under 14 years.

Survey members attributed the latest upturn in output to favourable economic conditions, demand strength and rising intakes of new work.

In the Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) parlance, a print above 50 means expansion, while a score below 50 denotes contraction.

“India’s service activity rose at a slightly softer pace in April, backed by a further rise in new orders, with a notable strength in domestic demand,” said Pranjul Bhandari, Chief India Economist at HSBC.

In addition to buoyant domestic demand, firms noted new business gains from several parts of the world, which collectively underpinned the second-quickest upturn in international sales since the series started in September 2014.

On the job front, a few service providers in India showed an increased appetite for new hires in April, amid rising inflows of new business. However, several companies indicated that payroll numbers were sufficient for current requirements, and the rate of job creation was marginal and softer than that seen at the end of the previous fiscal year.

“In response to increased new orders, firms expanded their staffing levels, though the pace of hiring growth decelerated,” Bhandari said.

On the price front, wage pressures and higher food prices meanwhile led to another increase in cost burdens, which firms partially passed on to their customers.

“Input costs continued to rise sharply, albeit slower than in March, but resulted in squeezed margins for service firms, as only part of the price rise was passed on to clients through output charges,” Bhandari said.

Meanwhile, confidence among service providers towards the year-ahead outlook for business activity improved to a 3-month high.

Marketing efforts and efficiency gains, alongside plans to price competitively and predictions that demand conditions will remain favourable, boosted optimism, the survey said.

Meanwhile, the HSBC India Composite PMI Output Index moderated to 61.5 in April, from 61.8 in March, the latest reading was one of the highest seen in close to 14 years and signalled a substantial rate of expansion across the private sector.

“In terms of overall activity, aggregate output across both the manufacturing and service sectors rose significantly in April, albeit at a slightly slower pace, indicating sustained health in these sectors,” Bhandari said.

During April, manufacturers continued to note a stronger increase in new business intakes than service providers. Aggregate sales rose sharply, and at one of the fastest rates since mid-2010.

Composite PMI indices are weighted averages of comparable manufacturing and services PMI indices. Weights reflect the relative size of the manufacturing and service sectors according to official GDP data.

  • India Extends Duty-Free Import Of Yellow Peas For Another Four Months | Economy News

New Delhi: India has extended the timeline for duty-free imports of yellow peas by four more months until October 2024, according to an official notification. In early December, the central government allowed duty-free imports of yellow peas until March 2024, later to be extended till April and then June. It was part of New Delhi’s intervention to cool the prices of the overall pulse basket.

Reportedly, the duty on yellow peas was first implemented in November 2017 at 50 per cent. India largely imports yellow peas from Canada and Russia. India is a large consumer and grower of pulses and it meets a portion of its consumption needs through imports. India primarily consumes chana, Masur, urad, Kabuli chana, and tur pulses. (Also Read: Paytm’s Chief Operating Officer Bhavesh Gupta Resigns, Citing Personal Reasons)

As part of the centre’s intervention, it had in September extended stock limits on tur and urad dal by two months until December 31, besides revising the stock holding limits for certain stakeholders. (Also Read: IDBI Bank Registers 44% Jump In Net Profit For Jan-March Quarter)

The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution had maintained that the revision in stock limits and extension of the time period were to prevent hoarding, elicit the continuous release of tur and urad in sufficient quantities to the market and make the pulses available at affordable prices.

Despite several measures, including various incentives to farmers, India is still dependent on imports of pulses for its domestic requirements. Pulses imports have almost doubled in 2023-24 to USD 3.74 billion. However, the official figure is yet to be disclosed, and estimates suggest shipments have crossed 45 lakh tonnes in the just-concluded financial year 2023-24 as against 24.5 lakh tonnes a year ago.

Government sources told ANI that to meet domestic demand and keep prices in check, the government is negotiating with new markets like Brazil and Argentia for a long-term contract for pulses imports.
