Jaipur’s political landscape lit up on Friday as Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma hailed his government’s latest budget during the Rajasthan Assembly debate on the Finance and Appropriation Bill. In a pointed response to opposition critiques, Sharma underscored how welfare-focused policies and bold economic reforms are propelling the state’s economy to new heights.
Shifting away from confrontation, the CM emphasized a solution-oriented approach rooted in development. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, Rajasthan is charging ahead with innovation and relentless reforms, positioning itself as a key driver in India’s vision of a developed nation by 2047.
Projections paint a rosy picture: per capita income is set to hit Rs 2,02,349 by 2026-27, crossing the Rs 2 lakh mark for the first time—a sharp 21.15% jump from Rs 1,67,027 in 2023-24. Growth across industry, agriculture, and services is unmistakable, fueling optimism.
The total state budget for 2026-27 stands at Rs 6,10,956 crore, a whopping 41% higher than the 2023-24 figure. Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) is expected to reach Rs 21,52,100 crore, reflecting over 41% growth compared to two years ago.
Sharma drew stark contrasts with the previous Congress regime, which managed just Rs 6,10,544 crore GSDP growth over five years. In contrast, his BJP government anticipates over Rs 6.3 lakh crore in just two years. Average growth rate has climbed from 10.92% to 12.25%, with constant price growth surging from 5.3% to 8.7%.
Revenue receipts are projected at Rs 3,25,740 crore for 2026-27, up 14.08% from last year and nearly 60% more than the final Congress budget. This momentum signals Rajasthan’s transformation into an economic powerhouse, with the CM vowing sustained progress for all citizens.
