New Delhi witnessed a pivotal moment as Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Union Budget 2026-27 presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Lok Sabha. Describing it as the blueprint for India’s economic transformation, Modi highlighted its sharp focus on reforms, MSMEs, skill development, cutting-edge infrastructure, healthcare, and education.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister commended Sitharaman’s detailed speech, emphasizing how the budget fuels the ‘Reform Express’ while bolstering small and medium enterprises. These sectors, he noted, are set to drive innovation, job creation, and global integration.

MSMEs, contributing nearly 30% to India’s GDP and employing over 11 crore people, receive special attention. The budget announces enhanced credit access, simplified regulations, and targeted incentives to help these enterprises link into global supply chains and scale up operations. ‘MSMEs are the backbone of our growth story,’ Sitharaman declared, underscoring their role in fostering entrepreneurship.

Skill development takes center stage with new initiatives tailored to green energy, advanced manufacturing, and digital technologies. Partnerships between industries and educational institutions aim to equip youth with job-ready skills, addressing the evolving demands of the economy.

Infrastructure gets a massive push through investments in digital connectivity, renewable energy corridors, logistics networks, and urban development projects. These next-generation initiatives are poised to accelerate India’s journey towards becoming a $5 trillion economy.

Healthcare and education allocations see significant hikes, with reforms designed to extend quality services to remote and underserved areas. This holistic approach balances growth-oriented spending with fiscal prudence amid global uncertainties.

Economists applaud the budget’s timing, as India positions itself as the world’s fastest-growing major economy. By prioritizing inclusive development, it lays a robust foundation for sustained prosperity.
