MORTH to Host Two-Day Highway Infrastructure Think‑Tank in Gujarat

New Delhi, October 4 – The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH) will convene a two‑day think‑tank on highway infrastructure in Ekta Nagar, Narmada district, Gujarat, on 5‑6 October. Senior officials from both the centre and the states, representatives of implementation agencies and other key stakeholders are slated to participate.

The event will be inaugurated by the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, with Union Ministers Ajay Tamta and Harsh Mallya in attendance. The primary aim is to pinpoint implementation bottlenecks, improve inter‑governmental coordination and explore practical solutions for ongoing and future highway projects.

Five thematic sessions – PM Gati Shakti and integrated infrastructure planning, land acquisition and the Land Pooling Platform, model concession agreements and ratings, highway safety, and quality assurance & project monitoring – will guide the discussions. Participants will share field experiences, best practices and policy recommendations to accelerate project delivery while enhancing safety and quality.

MORTH expects the conclave to strengthen centre‑state collaboration, generate a shared understanding of challenges and lay the groundwork for faster, safer and more cost‑effective highway construction across the nation.
