New Delhi is gearing up for a grand showcase at Gulfood 2026, the world’s premier food trade event, where India steps up as the Partner Country for the first time. With 161 exhibitors in tow, the nation aims to highlight its vast agri-food ecosystem and cement its place in global markets.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced this expanded participation on Friday, noting a significant leap from previous editions. The Indian pavilion has doubled in size, reflecting surging demand for Indian products worldwide, bolstered by active involvement from exporters, institutions, and startups.

Led by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), the display will feature region-specific agri-products, GI-tagged specialties, organic goods, and value-added foods. This strategic push underscores India’s commitment to quality and innovation in food exports.

A highlight is the Bharati Pavilion in the Dubai World Trade Centre’s startup zone, spotlighting eight high-potential Indian startups. Selected from over 100 applicants through a rigorous national process, these ventures showcase innovative products, tech-driven solutions, and export-ready presentations aligned with APEDA’s ‘Farm to Foreign’ vision.

Adding flair, a dedicated culinary zone will feature live demonstrations by a renowned chef, celebrating India’s rich culinary heritage, regional flavors, and versatile ingredients. This immersive experience is designed to captivate buyers and elevate Indian food brands globally.

APEDA is amplifying visibility through extensive branding across Dubai—metro stations, bus wraps, gas stations, and high-impact outdoor formats. These efforts aim to forge stronger buyer-seller ties, promote Indian brands, support startups and exporters, and position India as a reliable, innovation-led player in the global agri-food value chain.
