New Delhi is buzzing with pride as India secures the prestigious ‘Country of the Year’ title at BioFach 2026, the world’s premier trade fair for organic products. Scheduled from February 10 to 13 in Nuremberg, Germany, this event underscores India’s rising dominance in the global organic market.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced the news, highlighting the pivotal role of the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA). APEDA is orchestrating India’s most expansive participation yet, showcasing the nation’s rich agricultural legacy and its status as a top global supplier of organic goods.
BioFach stands as the largest and most influential exhibition dedicated to organic food and farming. India has been a consistent presence here for over a decade, steadily amplifying its footprint.
This year’s showcase marks a significant leap from previous editions. It reflects surging global demand for Indian organics, bolstered by growing involvement from exporters, associations, and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs). The Indian pavilion spans an impressive 1,074 square meters, featuring 67 co-exhibitors including exporters, FPOs, cooperatives, organic labs, state agencies, and commodity boards.
Visitors will feast their eyes on a diverse array of products: rice, oilseeds, herbs, spices, pulses, cashews, ginger, turmeric, large cardamom, cinnamon, mango puree, and essential oils. Over 20 states and union territories are represented, from Assam and Meghalaya to Jammu-Kashmir and Uttarakhand, highlighting India’s vast agricultural diversity and regional specialties.
This grand participation not only promotes unique organic offerings and value-added foods but also signals India’s robust annual growth in international organic trade. As global interest in sustainable farming intensifies, India’s spotlight at BioFach 2026 positions it as a leader in the organic revolution, promising boosted exports and stronger trade ties worldwide.
