Prime Minister's principal secretary P.K. Mishra told reporters on the sidelines of the 5th Kaulitya Economic Conclave that India has managed to sustain a rapid growth trajectory despite a backdrop of worldwide uncertainty. He attributed the performance to a strong, broad‑based economic infrastructure that underpins the country's development.
Mishra highlighted that India has diversified its supply chains, forged extensive trade relationships and signed multiple free‑trade agreements. These steps have reduced vulnerability to external shocks while keeping the economy open to global markets.
The official also noted that the government is actively expanding manufacturing capacity, aiming to balance openness with resilience. He warned that while risks are inevitable, the distinction between risk and uncertainty is becoming clearer for policymakers.
In his remarks, Mishra cited the electronics, pharmaceutical and semiconductor sectors as examples of how India can reap the benefits of globalization while shielding itself from excessive dependence.
