New Delhi witnessed a landmark moment in India’s digital evolution as Union Minister of State for Commerce, Electronics and IT, Jitin Prasada, hailed the five-day ‘AI Impact Summit 2026’ as the ‘Kumbh Mela’ of artificial intelligence. Speaking at the grand event, Prasada emphasized its massive scale and unprecedented participation, marking it as a historic milestone in the nation’s tech journey.

Addressing the session ‘From AI User to Creator,’ the minister urged innovators and entrepreneurs to embrace AI fully. He called on them to develop groundbreaking solutions that propel India towards self-reliance and global leadership. ‘This isn’t just an event; it’s a clarion call for creation,’ he declared.

Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership, India has transitioned from merely consuming AI to pioneering its development, Prasada noted. Technology and trade are now the twin engines driving the country’s economic surge, he added, painting a picture of a dynamic future powered by innovation.

Warning against complacency, the minister cautioned that governments failing to adapt to rapidly evolving technologies will lag in the global race. India’s vast talent pool is its greatest asset, but continuous adoption of future-ready tech is non-negotiable, he stressed.

Prasada advocated transforming AI from a mere academic subject into a cornerstone of youth skilling programs. He pushed for tailored AI applications across diverse sectors and states, moving beyond the hype of large language models to real-world impact.

Representing the Global South’s aspirations, he demanded practical AI solutions that simplify business and daily life, rather than theoretical debates. Advanced tech must permeate every societal layer, not remain elitist, he insisted.

Labeling data as the ‘fuel’ of the AI ecosystem, Prasada highlighted ongoing efforts to provide high-quality datasets, ensuring technology truly transforms lives. The accompanying ‘India AI Impact Expo 2026’ is set to draw over 250,000 attendees, including global delegates, fostering new partnerships and business avenues in the AI domain.

As India positions itself as an AI powerhouse, events like this summit signal a bold new era of innovation and inclusivity.
