Zurich, Switzerland – Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu wasted no time upon arriving in Zurich for the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting. His first order of business was a high-profile meeting with Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, marking the launch of an ambitious investment mission for his state.

Naidu expressed his delight on social media platform X, describing the encounter as a ‘respectful and enriching experience.’ This strategic dialogue underscores Andhra Pradesh’s push to attract global capital amid the WEF’s theme of ‘A Spirit of Dialogue,’ which brings together leaders from business, government, international organizations, civil society, and academia.

The Chief Minister’s itinerary in Zurich has been packed. He held discussions with World Bank Group President Ajay Banga and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Naidu congratulated Sarma on becoming the first Assam CM to attend the Davos meeting, wishing him success in his historic visit.

Welcomed warmly at Zurich Airport by India’s Ambassador to Switzerland, Mridul Kumar, Naidu was accompanied by Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu. A large contingent of Telugu diaspora, NRIs, and TDP workers from over 20 European countries greeted the delegation, highlighting the global reach of Andhra’s community.

Naidu’s four-day participation in the WEF summit, alongside state ministers, centers on pitching Andhra Pradesh’s investment potential. With around 3,000 delegates from 130 countries expected, including seven Indian Chief Ministers, the platform offers unparalleled exposure.

The state has prepared detailed PowerPoint presentations showcasing opportunities in green energy, green ammonia, artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing, and biotechnology. Additional focus areas include tourism, hospitality, education, and healthcare.

Key highlights include the establishment of ‘Quantum Valley’ in Amaravati, advanced quantum skilling courses training 100,000 experts—with 50,000 already enrolled—and the green ammonia-hydrogen plant in Kakinada. Building on last year’s WEF commitments that secured Rs 2.36 lakh crore in investments, Naidu’s team will brief national and international firms on supportive policies and initiatives.

This mission signals Andhra Pradesh’s determination to emerge as a hub for cutting-edge industries, fostering sustainable growth and job creation for its people.
