Ahmedabad witnessed a milestone celebration as Adani Mangal Seva completed its first year, empowering 500 differently-abled women with financial security and dignity. Launched exactly a year ago on February 5 during the wedding of Diva and Jeet Adani, this initiative reflects a profound commitment to social welfare.
Operated by the Adani Foundation, the program targets women aged 25 to 40 holding unique disability ID cards. Partners like Youth for Jobs identified deserving beneficiaries, ensuring transparency and reach. In its debut year, the initiative fulfilled its promise by setting up fixed deposits of Rs 10 lakh for each of the 500 women. This provides monthly income streams and long-term financial stability, redeemable after 10 years in collaboration with State Bank of India.
Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, shared his heartfelt reflections on social media platform X. Celebrating his daughter Diva and son-in-law Jeet’s first anniversary, he highlighted the ongoing pledge to support 500 newlywed differently-abled sisters annually with Rs 10 lakh each. ‘This brings immense pride and gratitude,’ he posted, emphasizing how such efforts restore smiles and confidence in daughters’ lives, surpassing worldly achievements.
The event at Belvedere Club Lawn in Shantigram featured the release of a book chronicling stories of transformation and empowerment. Dr. Priti Adani, Chairperson of Adani Foundation, underscored that true personal joy lies in sharing it for societal good. This isn’t just a program; it’s a movement of responsibility and empathy.
With a committed annual budget of Rs 50 crore, Adani Mangal Seva will continue for at least five years, touching thousands of lives. It stands as a beacon of corporate philanthropy, blending family values with nationwide impact, proving that compassion can drive systemic change.
