    Previously, car buyers focused primarily on aesthetics. However, the focus has shifted to safety features, with the number of airbags being a key consideration.

    Kia Syros: This vehicle has received a five-star rating from Bharat NCAP for adult and child safety. It starts at an ex-showroom price of around 9 lakh rupees and comes equipped with 6 airbags, rear ISOFIX mounts, electronic stability control, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems.

    Tata Nexon: The Tata Nexon has also earned high scores for adult and child safety. With an ex-showroom price starting at 7.99 lakh rupees, it’s offered in petrol, diesel, CNG, and fully electric variants. The Nexon sets a new safety standard in India.

    Mahindra XUV 3X0: The Mahindra XUV 3X0 has recently been updated. It received a 5-star safety rating for adult and child protection. The price starts at 7.99 lakh rupees (ex-showroom), and it is available in petrol and diesel. Safety features include 6 airbags, a 360-degree surround-view camera, and Level 2 ADAS.

    Skoda Kylaq: Another option in this segment, the Skoda Kylaq, has an ex-showroom price of 7.89 lakh rupees. It has a five-star safety rating and comes with 6 airbags and a tire pressure monitoring system, but it does not have ADAS.

    Tata Punch: The Tata Punch, with a 5-star safety rating, is available for under 10 lakh rupees. It offers many features at a low price, with a 5-star safety rating for adults and a 4-star rating for children. It is a popular choice, ranking as the second-best-selling car in India in FY2025, and is available in petrol, CNG, and all-electric powertrains.
