Tata Motors is preparing a significant launch for the Indian market, the return of the Tata Sierra SUV. This vehicle, a symbol of the 1990s, is being reimagined with updated features. The company will introduce the model at the BMGE 2025 event, with an EV version leading the way, followed by petrol and diesel variants.
The design, based on testing models, is expected to align with the concept model, featuring a wide horizontal grille, slim headlights, and a full-width LED light bar. The rear design will include a strong bumper, sleek taillamps, and a roof spoiler. The inclusion of a black roof and panoramic sunroof is expected to enhance the vehicle’s appearance.
Although official specifications are unavailable, it is anticipated that the EV version will share a dual-motor setup similar to the Harrier EV, delivering all-wheel drive (AWD) capability and a range exceeding 500 km. The petrol version might feature a new 1.5-liter turbo engine, offering approximately 168 PS of power and 280 Nm of torque. The diesel variant is expected to have a 2.0-liter engine, providing around 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. Transmission options will likely include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
The interior will be thoroughly modern, potentially incorporating a triple-screen setup: a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12.3-inch driver display. Additional features may include Level-2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, and other premium offerings.
The Tata Sierra is slated for an early 2026 launch in India. The vehicle’s presence at dealer events and ongoing prototype testing suggest that development is nearing completion.
