An incident on a Mumbai to Bengaluru SpiceJet flight saw a passenger confined to the aircraft’s lavatory for the duration of the journey. The airline has issued an apology and is reported to have offered a ticket refund. The situation has drawn considerable amusement online.

The passenger was finally released after the plane landed in Bengaluru. Ground staff and engineers managed to open the locked toilet door.

The event occurred on a Monday night flight, which departed Mumbai at 2:10 AM, two hours behind schedule. After takeoff, a passenger occupying seat 14D entered the restroom. Due to a malfunctioning door lock, the passenger became trapped.

With efforts to open the door failing, the crew opted to communicate with the passenger via a handwritten note slipped under the door. The note asked the passenger to stay seated on the toilet seat until the flight landed in Bengaluru.

The crew’s note quickly circulated on social media, leading to numerous humorous comments. The flight landed at Bengaluru around 3:45 AM, and the door was subsequently opened by airport engineers. The airline expressed its remorse and offered an apology for the inconvenience.
