A SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru turned into an unexpected ordeal for a passenger who was trapped in the lavatory for the entire flight. The airline has offered an apology and is said to have offered a refund for the passenger’s ticket. The incident has sparked interest online.

The passenger was eventually freed after the aircraft landed in Bengaluru, with ground staff and engineers managing to open the locked toilet door.

The incident unfolded on Monday night. The flight, which was delayed, took off from Mumbai at 2:10 AM. Shortly after takeoff, a passenger in seat 14D entered the restroom, and the door malfunctioned and locked.

The crew was unable to open the door, but they passed a handwritten note to the passenger, asking them to remain calm and stay seated until the flight landed. The note and details of the event were shared online, where it quickly went viral.

The flight landed at approximately 3:45 AM in Bengaluru. SpiceJet has issued a statement of apology for the issue.
