He detailed Sona Comstar’s transition from a gear manufacturer to a company focused on advanced systems. Singh mentioned the company’s expansion to include driveline systems, motors, and sensor systems.
Singh highlighted the industry’s shift towards system partnerships between component manufacturers and automakers. This collaborative model enables automakers to streamline operations and focus on critical areas such as design, innovation, and sales.
Discussing the Tier 0.5 supplier concept, Singh suggested that this is a challenging goal.
Singh expressed his vision for the industry achieving a $100 billion target, which he considers ambitious. He stressed the need for innovation, strong engineering capabilities, a focus on research, and a robust ecosystem to achieve this goal. Singh believes that the ambitious goal, while challenging, must be pursued through concerted effort and strategic planning.
