Nissan has relaunched the Leaf EV, introducing a refreshed design and significant enhancements. This relaunch aligns with the brand’s goals in sustainable mobility, aiming to revive the Leaf’s former success. The new Nissan Leaf will be sold worldwide.
The latest Leaf features a fastback-style silhouette with flush door handles, aerodynamically designed wheels, and a flat underbody. Constructed on the CMF-EV platform, used in other Nissan vehicles, the new Leaf will be available with two battery options: a 52 kWh and a 75 kWh battery pack. These batteries are expected to offer a range of approximately 430 km to 600 km.
Improvements include a new three-in-one electric motor and a heat pump, designed to optimize the heating system’s efficiency. The interior features a completely redesigned dashboard with two 14.3-inch screens utilizing a Google-based infotainment system. The vehicle is equipped with a range of semi-autonomous features and driving technologies.
The new Leaf will be manufactured in Japan at the Tochigi plant and at the Nissan facility in Sunderland, UK. With Nissan’s planned comeback in India, the Leaf could also be launched in the Indian market.
