Renault is planning to relaunch the Duster in India, introducing an all-new generation model with an anticipated launch in either the current year or 2026. The vehicle is expected to be available in both 5-seater and 7-seater configurations, similar to the Bigster and Boreal versions sold in Europe. Spy shots from Brazil provided a detailed look at the SUV’s front design, despite the camouflage.

The front fascia appears redesigned, with a continuous integration of the front grille and headlights. The Renault logo is prominently placed at the center of the grille. The Indian version, spotted during testing in Bangalore, adopts a design similar to the international model. Distinctive elements include V-shaped tail lamps and a notched roof-mounted spoiler, which contribute to the SUV’s sporty character. The tailgate features a contoured design, complemented by features like thick wheel arch cladding, a shark fin antenna, roof rails, a rear washer and wiper, and a raked windshield.

The new Duster utilizes the CMF-B modular platform, shared with models from Dacia, Renault, and Nissan. The upcoming Duster is expected to offer three powertrain options: a 1.6-litre strong-hybrid petrol engine, paired with two electric motors and a 1.2 kWh battery, delivering a peak output of 138 hp; a 1.2-litre petrol engine coupled with a 48V mild-hybrid system, producing 128.2 hp; and a 1.0-litre petrol-LPG dual-fuel engine, generating 98.6 hp, and coupled with a 6-speed transmission that powers all four wheels.

The new-generation Duster will offer an extensive range of features, including a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch digital cluster, wireless smartphone mirroring, OTA updates, and dual-zone AC. Safety features will include six airbags, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, a tire pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control, and a 360-degree camera. Additional features, such as autonomous emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, lane keep assist, and blind spot monitoring, may also be available. The current Dacia Duster has a 3-star rating in Euro NCAP crash tests.
