Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch its new SUV, the Victoris, on September 3, 2025. Details of the car, internally designated as Y17, were revealed ahead of schedule through an online leak. The leak, originating from Maruti Suzuki’s official website, confirmed the name via a brief appearance in Google search results. The company is targeting the middle class by offering the Victoris at a competitive price point.

    Maruti Victoris SUV Overview

The Victoris will be sold through Maruti’s Arena dealerships, slotting into the SUV lineup between the Brezza and Grand Vitara. It is built on Suzuki’s Global-C platform, which is also used for the Grand Vitara. This platform sharing strategy aims to reduce production expenses, while the Victoris will offer features found in the Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder.

    Targeting the Competition

In terms of size, the Victoris is expected to be slightly longer than the Grand Vitara, measuring approximately 4,345 mm. This will place it in direct competition with the Hyundai Creta (4,330 mm) and Kia Seltos (4,365 mm). It will also be up against upcoming models like the 2026 Kia Seltos facelift, Skoda Kushaq facelift, and Volkswagen Taigun facelift. The Victoris will need to differentiate itself through its spaciousness, features, and pricing, with the extended body potentially providing increased cargo capacity.

    Powertrain Options

The Victoris will share engine options with the Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder. This includes a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine with 103 PS and 139 Nm of torque. It will be available with both 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions. The Suzuki All Grip All-Wheel Drive (AWD) will also be an option. Additionally, there will be a 1.5-liter strong hybrid powertrain, delivering 115.5 PS and paired with an e-CVT gearbox. To broaden its appeal, a CNG variant will also be offered, with the CNG mode producing 88 PS.
