TVS has announced the launch of the Orbiter, its new electric scooter, positioned as a more accessible option compared to the iQube. The unveiling of the Orbiter highlighted its new features and range capabilities. The scooter is equipped with an IP67-certified traction motor and battery. The Orbiter distinguishes itself with its unique design, including a flat floor to enhance comfort and a long seat. The scooter is available in six color options, including Neon Sunburst, Stratos Blue, Lunar Grey, Stellar Silver, Cosmic Titanium, and Martian Copper. It showcases a high-mounted headlamp cluster, with a DRL integrated into the front apron. Focusing on rider comfort, the EV features an 845 mm flat seat designed for a relaxed posture. The Orbiter provides 169 mm of ground clearance and rolls on 14-inch wheels. Practical storage solutions include 34 liters of under-seat storage, in addition to 290 mm of usable space on the flat footboard. The Orbiter is the first in its segment to offer cruise control, incorporating safety measures to protect the rider. It also features a USB charging port and hill assist. The Orbiter provides a range of approximately 158 km on a full charge. It also has a connected cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, providing features such as live location tracking, anti-theft alerts, updates on nearby charging stations, and vehicle health monitoring. A motor cut-off safety system ensures that the scooter does not accelerate in the event of a fall. The 158 km range is delivered by a 3.1 kWh battery pack. The Orbiter is a more affordable alternative to the iQube; a 94 km range option is available with a 2.2 kWh battery pack. The Orbiter is priced at ₹99,000 (ex-showroom, Bangalore) and can be booked via TVS’s official website.
