A passenger on a SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru found themselves unexpectedly confined to the aircraft’s restroom throughout the flight. The door malfunctioned, trapping the passenger inside. The airline has since apologized and is said to have offered a refund. The flight, which departed from Mumbai two hours behind schedule, experienced the incident soon after takeoff. The passenger, seated in seat 14D, was unable to open the lavatory door after entering.
The crew attempted to assist, but the door remained locked. To provide comfort, the crew communicated with the trapped passenger via a handwritten note passed under the door. The flight landed in Bengaluru at approximately 3:45 AM, and the door was subsequently opened by ground staff. The incident quickly gained attention on social media, generating a flurry of comments and amusement from online users.
