Maruti Suzuki recorded an impressive production performance in September 2025, marking a significant surge in output. The company’s total production for the month reached 2,01,915 units, representing a 26% increase compared to the 1,59,743 units produced in September 2024. This surge was driven by robust demand during the festive season and the need to fulfill a growing number of customer bookings.

The compact car segment experienced the highest growth, with popular models like the Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, and Swift leading the way. Production in this segment reached 93,301 units, significantly up from the 68,413 units produced in September of the previous year. This increase shows the continued preference for hatchbacks and compact sedans.

SUVs and MUVs also played a vital role in the increased production. Production of vehicles such as the Brezza, Ertiga, and Fronx rose by 27% to 79,496 units, compared to 62,752 units in the previous year.

The production of entry-level cars, like the Alto and S-Presso, saw a slight increase, reaching 12,318 units compared to 12,155 units last year. The Eeco van’s production also increased, reaching 13,201 units compared to 11,702 units. Maruti’s Super Carry, a light commercial vehicle, performed well too, with production reaching 3,599 units, which is an improvement over 3,034 units from September 2024.

In an interesting development, there was no production of the premium sedan Ciaz during this period, unlike the 1,687 units produced in the same month of the previous year.

Maruti Suzuki’s recent sales report showed total sales of 1,89,665 units in September 2025. Despite this, domestic passenger vehicle sales declined by 8%, reaching 1,32,820 units. The company attributed the decrease to inventory management and preparations for the festive season.
