Maruti Suzuki India has commenced the export of the e-Vitara, with a shipment of over 2,900 units last month. The vehicles were exported to various European countries from the Pipavav port in Gujarat. The e-Vitara is produced at Maruti Suzuki’s Hansalpur plant. The Prime Minister of India inaugurated the export of the e-Vitara on August 26. Maruti Suzuki plans to export the e-Vitara to more than 100 countries worldwide. The company’s overall exports in August showed a 40 percent increase, reaching a total of 36,538 units, compared to the 26,003 units recorded in the same period last year. The e-Vitara’s entry into the European market is a strategic step for Maruti Suzuki. In the domestic market, the Maruti e-Vitara will compete with the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, Tata Curve EV, and Mahindra BE 6. While the official price is yet to be announced, media reports suggest a starting price of around 20 lakh rupees.
