Mahindra’s Vision S concept was revealed recently, generating excitement about its potential. It is anticipated to join the Scorpio family, which already includes the Scorpio N and the Classic Scorpio. This reveal was part of a broader showcasing of concept vehicles, including the Vision X, T, and SXT.

The Vision S presents a bold new design direction for Mahindra. The front fascia features LED headlights and a distinctive grille with integrated LED elements, and the signature twin peaks logo. The bumper houses a radar unit and parking sensors. Additional design cues include roof-mounted lights and pixel-shaped fog lamps, which set it apart from existing Mahindra models.

For off-road capability, the Vision S is equipped with protective cladding and substantial wheel arches. It rides on 19-inch wheels. Side-mounted cameras replace traditional side mirrors. The rear design incorporates inverted tail lamps, a reflector, and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel branded with the Vision S name.

The interior of the Vision S presents a redesigned layout. It has a new steering wheel featuring VISION S lettering, and a fully digital driver’s display with updated graphics. The infotainment system is expected to feature Mahindra’s new NU UX system, offering wireless smartphone connectivity. The cabin incorporates dual-tone upholstery, redesigned door trims, premium seats, and a panoramic sunroof. Grab handles are positioned for easier access.

The Vision S shares Mahindra’s NU-IQ platform with other concepts. This monocoque platform is designed to accommodate SUVs between 3,990 mm and 4,320 mm in length and supports various powertrain options, including petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric. It can accommodate both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive systems.

A version with an internal combustion engine appears likely, possibly featuring a 1.2-liter turbo petrol or a 1.5-liter diesel engine. Features such as variable-ratio steering are expected to improve the handling of the SUV.
