Hyundai is planning to launch a facelift model of the Verna mid-size sedan. According to recent media reports, camouflaged test mules of the vehicle have been observed on Indian roads, indicating a potential launch in early 2026. The company is focusing on design updates, as seen in previous facelift models.

The new Verna will feature the signature taillamps, which stretch across the rear of the car, enhanced with new LED elements. The rear bumper will also be redesigned to improve its aesthetics. While spy shots have primarily focused on the rear design, significant alterations are expected for the front design, potentially drawing inspiration from the Hyundai Elantra and Sonata. These changes may include a more prominent front grille, larger projector headlamps, and sleek LED DRLs.

Major changes to the interior design are not anticipated for the facelifted Verna. However, Hyundai may introduce new features, such as a larger infotainment display, a new instrument cluster, wireless smartphone mirroring, and an updated ADAS safety suite. Currently, the Verna is available at a starting price of ₹10.69 lakh (ex-showroom). The new facelift could see a price increase. Upon release, it will compete with rivals such as the Honda City, Skoda Slavia, and Volkswagen Virtus.

The engine lineup for the new Verna is expected to remain unchanged. It will include a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, delivering 113 bhp and 144 Nm of torque. This engine will be paired with either a 6-speed manual or an IVT gearbox. In addition, there will be a more powerful 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine, which produces 158 bhp and 253 Nm of torque. This engine option will come with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
