The FASTag Annual Pass was introduced by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on August 15, 2025. This pass is accepted at around 1,150 toll plazas on select National Highways and National Expressways (NE) across India. Online booking and activation became accessible on August 15, providing convenient access for users. The launch received an overwhelming response on its debut.

By 7 PM on the first day, about 1.4 lakh users had purchased and activated the Annual Pass, resulting in around 1.39 lakh transactions at toll plazas. Simultaneously, around 20,000 to 25,000 users are utilizing the Rajmargyatra app. Users of the annual pass are receiving SMS alerts indicating zero toll charges.

To ensure a smooth experience for FASTag Annual Pass holders, NHAI officials and nodal officers have been assigned at every toll plaza. To address any issues encountered by FASTag Annual Pass users, the 1033 National Highway Helpline has been strengthened by including over 100 officers.

The FASTag Annual Pass costs Rs 3,000. The pass is valid for one year or for up to 200 trips, whichever comes first. It can be easily purchased and activated through the NHAI’s official website or the Rajmargyatra mobile app.

This facility is only available for private vehicles, including cars, jeeps, and vans. Commercial vehicles are not eligible for this pass. With nearly a 98 percent entry rate and over 8 crore users, FASTag has revolutionized electronic toll collection in the country.
