The Citroen C3 Aircross SUV has been recognized for its safety performance by receiving a 5-star rating for adult occupant protection from the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP). The vehicle achieved a score of 27.05 points out of a possible 33 for adult safety, and 40 out of 49 points for child occupant protection, resulting in a 4-star rating for child safety. The Aircross is the 22nd vehicle to be awarded a 5-star safety rating by Bharat NCAP. While the Aircross received a 5-star rating, its adult safety score is comparatively lower than other vehicles with similar ratings. The crash testing revealed that the Citroen Aircross’s structure and footwell area demonstrated stability and capability to withstand increased loads. The SUV provided good to adequate protection for adult occupants in frontal and side impact tests, across all body regions. The side pole test showed effective head protection due to curtain airbags. Regarding child occupant protection, the Aircross offered full protection to 18-month-old and 3-year-old dummies when properly secured in rearward-facing child seats using ISOFIX anchorages and support legs. The car is equipped with i-Size anchorages as standard, simplifying child seat installation and ensuring safety. Standard safety features in the Aircross include six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill-hold assist, 3-point seatbelts with reminders for all seats, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). The body structure is constructed with High Strength Steel (HSS), Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS), and Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS) to effectively absorb crash energy and reduce cabin intrusion. For comfort and convenience, the SUV offers LED projector headlamps, automatic air-conditioning, power-folding ORVMs, a soft-touch dashboard, rear AC vents, and repositioned power window switches. The car comes with transmission choices like a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, and a 6-speed automatic. The seating options include a 5-seater and a 5+2 seater configuration, offering versatility. Engine choices consist of a 1.2L PureTech 110 turbocharged petrol engine that produces 110 PS and 205 Nm of torque, along with a 1.2L PureTech 82 naturally aspirated petrol engine. The Citroën Aircross is priced from Rs 8.32 lakh to Rs 14.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
