    Citroen India has expanded its product line with the introduction of the Basalt X. Priced at ₹12.90 lakh, the Basalt X presents a variety of features alongside styling modifications. The vehicle comes with different engine options and trim levels. A redesigned dashboard layout is incorporated in the new Basalt X. The high-end trim boasts a dual-tone interior theme, combining beige and black elements crafted from premium materials.

    The model features all-LED headlamps, ventilated seats, ambient lighting, a perimeter alarm, and the innovative Cara in-car assistant. Cara includes a voice command feature for streamlined navigation, service history access, route selection, and point-of-interest functions. Citroen also intends to enhance its dealer network, aiming to increase the number of dealerships from 88 to 150.

    The Basalt X U variant, with its 1.2-liter petrol engine, starts at ₹7.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The Plus variant, offering either a 1.2-liter petrol or a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine, is priced at ₹9.42 lakh and ₹10.82 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. The top-tier Max+ variant of the Citroen Basalt X, equipped with a 1.2 petrol turbo engine and available with manual or automatic transmissions, is priced at ₹11.62 lakh and ₹12.89 lakh (ex-showroom).

    The new Citroen Basalt X includes features like cruise control, an engine start/stop button, and a leather-finished dashboard. The SUV also offers keyless entry, an optional 360-degree camera system, and a new Garnet Red exterior paint option. Complementing these features is a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, offering wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. The Basalt X will directly compete with existing rivals such as the Creta, Seltos, and Vitara.

    It also features a 7-inch color TFT digital display, automatic climate control, and wireless charging capabilities. Regarding safety, the Citroen Basalt X is equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, ESP, a tire pressure monitoring system, and several other safety technologies. The Citroen Basalt X is powered by a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine generating 108 bhp and 190 Nm of peak torque, paired with a manual gearbox. The automatic transmission variant boosts torque up to 205 Nm.
