  • ‘Culture of false promises’, PM Modi attacks Congress over ‘incomplete guarantees’

New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Congress party of making ‘unrealistic’ and ‘false’ promises to the people and said that the poor, youth, farmers and women have become ‘victims of such politics’. His comments come after Mallikarjun Kharge’s advice to the Karnataka unit, in which he advised the party to make only those promises which are financially strong.

PM Modi said in a post on Twitter, ‘The people of the country have to be alert against the culture of false promises sponsored by the Congress! We recently saw how the people of Haryana rejected his lies and preferred a government that is stable, progress-oriented and action-driven.

He said, ‘The Congress party is realizing that it is easy to make false promises, but it is difficult or impossible to implement them properly. Campaign after campaign they make promises to the people that they will never be able to keep. Now, they have been badly exposed in front of the people!’

    ‘Incomplete guarantees, terrible fraud’

The Prime Minister said Congress-ruled states including Karnataka, Himachal and Telangana are facing financial problems as the grand old party has failed to implement its “so-called guarantees”.

He said. “Today, in every state where the Congress is in power – Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana – the pace of development and the financial situation is going from bad to worse. Their so-called guarantee is incomplete, which is a terrible betrayal of the people of these states. The victims of such politics are the poor, youth, farmers and women, who are not only deprived of the benefits of these promises, but their existing schemes are also weakened,”

‘What the PM said is wrong’

Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal rejected PM Modi’s allegations and said that the Karnataka government is implementing the schemes as per the promises.

He said, “We are implementing everything in a better way in Karnataka. Anyone can check it. We are implementing our promises, which is a clear model of Congress promises. Whatever promise we had made, we are implementing it in Karnataka. “Anybody can check it.” He said, “What the PM said is wrong…Basically, the Indian government is not fulfilling what it promised…They are blaming us for not fulfilling it. But from our side, we are fulfilling our promises.”

‘Busy in internal politics of Congress party’

Without naming anyone, PM Modi accused the Congress party of being more involved in the internal politics of Karnataka and ‘looting’ the states ruled by it.

Prime Minister Modi said, “In Karnataka, Congress is busy in internal party politics and looting, instead of doing development work. Not only this, they are also going to withdraw the existing schemes. In Himachal Pradesh, government employees are not paid salaries on time. Farmers in Telangana are waiting for the promised relaxation. Earlier in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, he had promised to give some allowances, which were not implemented for five years. There are many examples of how Congress works.”

  • ‘B’ In BJP Stands for ‘Betrayal’, ‘J’ For ‘Jumla’: Kharge Hits Back At Modi Over PM’s Poll Promise Dig At Congress |

PM Modi vs Kharge: The war of words between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge continued on Friday after PM Modi took a swipe at the grand old party over its poll guarantees.

On Friday, the Congress launched a multi-pronged attack on the Prime Minister, with Kharge saying before pointing fingers, PM Modi should note that the “Modi Ki Guarantee” is a “cruel joke” on 140 crore Indians.

The Congress national president took to X and launched a scathing attack on the saffron party. He stated that the ‘B’ in BJP stands for ‘betrayal’ while ‘J’ stands for ‘jumla’. In a post on X, Kharge said, “Narendra Modi ji, Lies, Deceit, Fakery, Loot and Publicity are the 5 adjectives which best describe your government! Your drum beating regarding a 100-day plan was a cheap PR stunt!”

Besides Kharge, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, and Congress General Secretary (Organisation) KC Venugopal also slammed PM Modi, citing Congress’ track record in fulfilling its promises.

“On May 16, 2024, you claimed that you took inputs from more than 20 lakh people for the roadmap for 2047. RTI filed in PMO declined to put forth details, exposing your LIES!” the Congress chief said in the post.

Claiming to set the record straight, the senior Congress leader also highlighted the issue of the promise of “two crore jobs per year”.

“Why is India’s unemployment rate at a 45-year high and why are stampedes witnessed wherever there are vacancies for a handful of jobs,” Kharge questioned.

“Who is responsible for 70 paper leaks in 7 years and who snatched 5 lakh government jobs by selling stake in PSUs,” he further asked.

Stating that ‘Bahut Hui Mehangai Ki Maar’, the grand old party chief asked, “Why have household savings plunged to a 50-year low? Why has the cost of a common thali increased by 52 per cent in just last year? TOP — Tomato prices have increased by 247 per cent, Potato by 180 per cent and Onion by 60 per cent.”

“Who levied GST on essential food items such as Milk, Curd, Aata, Dal? Who is penalising the middle class through Long Term Capital Gains Tax by indulging in tax terrorism,” Kharge asked.

Continuing his attack at the BJP, Kharge took a jibe at the saffron party over its promise of “Acche Din”

“Rupee is at an all-time low. Is it in ICU or in Margdarshak Mandal? Your Govt has borrowed Rs 150 lakh+ crores in past 10 years, amounting to a debt of Rs 1.5 lakh on every Indian. MSMEs have been destroyed through DeMO + Flawed GST,” he said.

“Clean chit to China post-Galwan, red carpet for Chinese investments and ruining relations with every neighbouring country,” Karge said in the post.

Going all out against the PM Modi-led central government, he accused it of “snatching government jobs from SC, ST, OBC, and EWS communities by a 91 per cent increase in Casual/Contract hiring”.

“JUMLA of doubling Income of Farmers by 2022. Refusing Legal Guarantee for MSP. GST on 35 Farm articles. Turning permanent recruitment to Armed Forces to a temporary one through Agnipath! Modi ji, before finger-pointing, please note that MODI KI GUARANTEE is a cruel joke on 140 crore Indians!,” the Congress chief said.

Kharge’s remarks came after Modi on Friday said the Congress stands “badly exposed” in front of people for promising to them what the party knows it will never be able to deliver. Modi launched a fierce attack on the opposition party as he seized on Kharge’s comments that the Congress’ state units should make promises that are properly budgeted. He also said the developmental trajectory and fiscal health in the Congress-ruled states of Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana are going from bad to worse.

  • As 1st Desi President, Kamala Harris Will Boost US-India Ties, Says US Congressman Krishnamoorthi. world news

Indian-American Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi expressed confidence in Vice President Kamala Harris’s prospects in the upcoming presidential election, predicting a very tight race but ultimately believing that Harris will emerge victorious. Highlighting the relationship between India and the US after the outcome of the presidential elections, Krishnamoorthi said that Harris, as the first “Desi’ President,” would strengthen these ties.

“It’s going to be an extremely close election. I think that she’s going to ultimately prevail. But as you know, we’re going to be looking at six or seven states very closely on election night. Some of those results may not roll in We’re also going to be patient as votes get counted. The last time in 2020, it took a week or so for more clarity about each state. Election, there’s an old saying in Washington, DC if you don’t have a seat at the table, the best way to pull up your proverbial seat to the table is to make sure you vote. if you’re eligible to vote,” Krishnamoorthi told ANI.

If Donald Trump returns to the presidency, his approach is expected to be marked by a transactional foreign policy, balancing public disagreements over trade and market access with strategic needs. In contrast, Kamala Harris, like President Joe Biden, is likely to prioritize strategic alignments, viewing India as a crucial counterbalance to China and working to prevent differences from turning into divisions. Nevertheless, many, including the Congressman, anticipate that both candidates will advocate for a strong India-US relationship.

“About India, regardless of who is elected as the president, the relationship with India is growing stronger. It’s covering more subjects, it’s growing deeper. It’s going to go to higher heights over time. Kamala Harris, as the first ‘Desi’ President of the United States, would help to strengthen those bonds. She’s visited India so many times as a child and a young adult, given that her mom came from India and instilled those values,” Krishnamoorthi added.

Krishnamoorthi further added that Indian American voters will be influential in the upcoming presidential elections. He stressed that while there will be a variety of opinions, the community as a whole shares several unifying beliefs.

He said, “I still think that Indian Americans believe in a few things that unify us as a community. They should hold their elected officials accountable for fulfilling that kind of unified agenda.”
