  • Shocking! Telegram AI Bots Can Generate Deepfakes Of Women And Girls: Report |

New Delhi: The growing threat of deepfakes and AI misuse has taken a troubling turn, with a recent investigation revealing that AI-powered chatbots on Telegram are being used to generate explicit images of real people. Millions of users are reportedly engaging with these tools, raising serious concerns about privacy, consent, and the potential harm caused by this technology. Authorities and individuals worldwide are now grappling with the implications of this alarming trend.

Several celebrities, including Taylor Swift, Jenna Ortega, Alia Bhatt, and Rashmika Mandanna have fallen victim to these deepfakes. What’s even more alarming is that teenage girls are now being targeted, with deepfakes increasingly being used for sextortion schemes.

These AI-powered bots allow users to alter photos with just a few clicks. This creates deepfakes that remove clothing or depict fabricated sexual activity. According to a recent report by Wired, around 4 million people use these chatbots monthly to produce such deepfakes. This causes significant risks to privacy and safety, particularly for young girls and women.

Four years ago, deepfake expert Henry Ajder uncovered a Telegram bot designed to “undress” photos of women using AI. Today, the issue has grown rapidly with a new study revealing that at least 50 similar bots are now active on the platform, attracting over 4 million monthly users. These tools allow users to easily generate nude images of real people by editing photos with just a few clicks and some even creating fake images of individuals performing sexual acts.

WIRED’s analysis of Telegram groups involved in explicit content reveals that at least two bots have over 400,000 monthly users, with another 14 bots attracting more than 100,000 subscribers. Deepfake expert Henry Ajder has called this situation “nightmarish,” emphasizing the serious harm these tools pose, particularly to young girls.

As per WIRED report, At least 25 Telegram channels support the identified bots, attracting over 3 million members combined. These channels provide updates on new bot features, offer special deals on “tokens” needed to use the bots and often direct users to alternative bots if the original ones are removed by Telegram. Further, the demand for “nudified” websites has become so high that Russian cybercriminals, as 404Media reports, have begun creating fake sites to infect users with malware.

  • ‘Sent 26 Extradition Requests…’: India Flags Canada’s Ignorance Over Action Against Lawrence Bishnoi’s Gang Members |

India-Canada Row: Amid the strained ties with Canada, India on Thursday revealed that there are 26 extradition requests pending with the north american country since over a decade. The requests include those of some hardcore Khalistani extremists and criminals wanted by India.

During a weekly briefing on Thursday, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that besides these requests, there are several provisional arrest requests which are also pending with the Canadian side of several criminals.

“There are 26 extradition requests pending with the Canadian side. These are over the last decade or more. Along with it, there are several provisional arrest requests which are also pending with the Canadian side of several criminals. Some of the notable ones, who have been charged with terror and related crimes, are Gurjeet Singh, Gurjinder Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Lakhbir Singh Landa and Arshdeep Singh Gill. We have shared the security-related information with the Canadian government,” he said.

It is pertinent to mention that the extradition requests pending with Canada include those of Lawrence Bishnoi gang, with the Indian government requesting the Justin Trudeau government to arrest them or take due action against them as per the law.

“We had shared some requests with the Canadian side for the arrest of those from Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. They haven’t taken any action on our core concerns. There is a political motive also behind this,” Jaiswal said.

“So far no action has been taken by the Canadian side on our requests. This is very serious. Also we find it very strange that the people we asked to be deported, on whom we asked action to be taken, we are being told – the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) is blaming the Indian side – that these people are committing crimes in Canada for which India is to be blamed. So, this is a contradiction which we don’t understand,” the MEA spokesperson further stated.

In what has been one of the lowest points in relations between the two countries, New Delhi on Monday decided to withdraw its High Commissioner and “other targeted diplomats and officials” from Canada following Trudeau’s continued “hostility” towards India.

The MEA had stated earlier this week that India has conveyed to Canada that it reserves the right to take further steps in response to the Trudeau Government’s support for extremism, violence and separatism against India.

“India-Canada economic ties are robust and strong. We have a large diaspora in Canada. Our students form the largest cohort of international students in the country. Several large Canadian pension funds have invested in India and Canada remains the major beneficiary of these linkages and ties. The current crisis in the relationship has been precipitated by the Trudeau government’s baseless allegations,” asserted the MEA spokesperson on Thursday.

The IDF also confirmed that there were no signs of hostages in the building where the strike took place. Forces in the area are continuing operations with necessary caution. According to reports, the IDF soldiers were not aware of Sinwar’s presence in the building but they struck the target as there were signs of Hamas militants’ presence in the building.

    Who Is Yahya Sinwar?

Yahya Sinwar is widely termed the mastermind of the October 7 terrorist attacks on Israel. He was announced as the new leader of the militant group Hamas after the death of Ismail Haniyeh in July this year.

Yahya Sinwar was born in 1962 in the Khan Younis refugee camp in Gaza. He became one of the early members of Hamas, which was established in 1987. Sinwar led the group’s internal security wing, responsible for eliminating suspected Israeli informants. Arrested by Israel in the late 1980s, he earned the nickname “The Butcher of Khan Younis” for his role in multiple killings. In 2008, he survived brain cancer after being treated by Israeli doctors.

Sinwar was released from Israeli prison in 2011, as part of a prisoner exchange deal negotiated by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for an Israeli soldier captured by Hamas. Upon his return to Gaza, Sinwar quickly rose through the ranks of Hamas leadership, gaining a reputation for his brutality. He is widely believed to have orchestrated the 2016 assassination of senior Hamas commander Mahmoud Ishtewi during an internal power struggle.

  • Unique Karwa Chauth Traditions Across India: Exploring Regional Rituals And Customs | Culture News

Karwa Chauth, one of the most beloved and celebrated festivals among married Hindu women, holds a special place in Indian culture. This year, it will be celebrated on Sunday, October 20th, observed primarily in North India, it is a day when women fast from sunrise to moonrise for the longevity and well-being of their husbands. While the essence of the festival remains the same, the traditions and customs vary across different regions of India, adding a unique flavor to the celebration.

Here’s a look at the distinct Karwa Chauth traditions observed in various parts of the country:

    1. Punjab – Celebrating with Enthusiasm and Elegance

In Punjab, Karwa Chauth is celebrated with unmatched enthusiasm. Women start the day by receiving a pre-dawn meal called Sargi from their mothers-in-law, which includes fruits, sweets, and paranthas. Punjabi women dress in bright red or traditional attire, adorning themselves with beautiful jewelry and henna. In the evening, women gather in groups to narrate the Karwa Chauth katha and pass around a plate containing sacred items like sindoor (vermillion) and rice. The festival is celebrated with music and dance, making it a joyful event before breaking the fast upon sighting the moon.

    2. Rajasthan – The Special ‘Baya’ Tradition

In Rajasthan, a unique tradition called baya is followed, where mothers of newlywed women send a gift to their daughters’ in-laws’ house. This gift includes traditional food items, clothes, and money. Women in Rajasthan also create intricate designs on the floor using wheat flour, symbolizing prosperity and well-being. Like elsewhere, the women break their fast only after sighting the moon, but not before offering water and flowers to the moon as part of their rituals.

    3. Uttar Pradesh – ‘Chauth Mata’ Puja

In Uttar Pradesh, women worship Goddess Chauth Mata as part of the Karwa Chauth rituals. Before starting the fast, they place a clay pot known as karwa filled with water and offer prayers to the goddess for their husbands’ long life. After fasting throughout the day, they perform a traditional puja in the evening and listen to the Karwa Chauth katha narrated by an elder woman. The day ends with women offering water to the moon and breaking their fast.

    4. Madhya Pradesh – The Symbolic Karwa

In Madhya Pradesh, the clay pot called karwa holds significant symbolic importance. Married women exchange these pots with each other as a token of love and respect. The pots are filled with rice, suhaag items (like bangles and bindis), and coins. This symbolic exchange strengthens the bond of sisterhood among women, emphasizing the social aspect of the festival alongside its spiritual significance.

    5. Gujarat – Observing the Fast Together

Gujarat’s Karwa Chauth traditions have a unique communal approach. Here, women prefer observing the fast collectively, gathering at temples or designated places in the neighbourhood. They come together for prayers, listen to the traditional katha, and perform the rituals in unison. This togetherness fosters a sense of unity among the community, making the celebration both spiritual and social.

    6. Maharashtra – A Simpler Yet Meaningful Observation

In Maharashtra, Karwa Chauth is not as elaborate as in North India, but it still holds great importance among married women. The fast is observed with simplicity, and women focus more on praying for the well-being of their husbands rather than dressing up or performing elaborate rituals. The tradition of breaking the fast after offering water to the moon remains the same, but without the grandeur seen in northern regions.

    7. Bihar – The ‘Karwa’ Gift Exchange

In Bihar, women also observe the tradition of exchanging a karwa (a small clay pot) with their peers. The pot is filled with bangles, sweets, sindoor, and rice, symbolizing prosperity. After performing the evening rituals and prayers, women gather in groups and exchange these pots as a mark of respect and sisterhood. They break their fast with blessings from the elders, maintaining the essence of Karwa Chauth with a focus on mutual support.

    8. Haryana – Involving the Whole Family

In Haryana, Karwa Chauth is a festival that brings together not just women but the entire family. The day starts with the pre-dawn sargi meal, and after a day-long fast, the family gathers for a collective puja. Women break their fast after offering prayers to the moon and seeking blessings from the elders of the family. The day is marked by familial togetherness, making it a wholesome celebration that extends beyond just the couple.

    9. Delhi – A Modern Blend of Tradition

In Delhi, Karwa Chauth has taken on a more modern twist while still maintaining its traditional roots. Women participate in fasting rituals but also indulge in spa treatments, shopping, and wearing designer outfits for the occasion. The evening katha is often accompanied by gatherings in parks or community centers, where women celebrate together, sharing stories and blessings.

    10. Himachal Pradesh – Celebrating with Folk Songs

In the hilly regions of Himachal Pradesh, women celebrate Karwa Chauth with a unique touch of local tradition. The festival is marked by folk songs that narrate tales of marital love and devotion. After a day-long fast, the women gather to sing these songs in groups before proceeding with the moon-sighting rituals.

Karwa Chauth, while a universally celebrated festival for marital love and devotion, showcases a rich tapestry of regional customs across India. From the grandeur of Punjab to the simplicity of Maharashtra, each region adds its own flavor to the festival, reflecting the diversity of Indian culture. These unique traditions highlight the deep cultural roots of Karwa Chauth and the universal bond of love, prayer, and devotion that it represents.
