  • IND vs NZ 2nd Test: Who Will Make Way For Shubman Gill? KL Rahul Or Sarfaraz Khan? , cricket news

Assistant coach of Team India, Ryan ten Doeschate has shared some details about the team’s choice for wicketkeeper-batter for the second Test against New Zealand in Pune. Earlier, Dhruv Jurel’s name floated around for the second game against the Kiwis due to Rishabh Pant’s injury but Ten Doeschate has confirmed Pant is fit to plat after the youngster did not keep wickets due to an injury during the first Test.

“Everyone is really well. There wasn’t too much bowling in the first Test. The fast bowlers are all good. Rishabh is pretty good. He was having a little bit of discomfort the other day with the movement of his knee but fingers crossed , he’ll be good to keep in the Test (in Pune),” ten Doechate said on Tuesday.

Shubman Gill is also likely to return to the playing eleven as he was injured and missed the Bengaluru Test due to a stiff neck. “He looks so. He has batted well in Bengaluru and has had a few hits. He had some discomfort but he looks good to go,” he added.

Who Will Lose Spot For Gill?

KL Rahul is likely to get dropped as Sarfaraz Khan who replaced Gill in the lineup scored a sensational 150. Rahul has a century against South Africa earlier this year a solid fifty against England. Team management is left with no choice to make harsh call of dropping.

“There’s no denying that there is a fight for a spot. Sarfaraz Khan was brilliant. I went to KL after the last Test and asked him ‘how many did you play and miss?’ That’s what tends to happen when you’re not getting runs. So there’s no concern about KL Rahul. mental space. But we’ve got to fit seven pieces into six spots.”

“We’re not worried about his form. We have a lot of faith in him. It’s a very competitive environment. With a 150 and hundreds in the Irani Trophy, The decision will be what’s best for the team, but we will continue to back all the players,” ten Doeschate said.

  • Government Launches New Spam-Tracking System To Block International Calls; Details Here |

Detect And Block International Calls: The government on Tuesday introduced a new spam-tracking system designed to detect and block international calls disguised as Indian numbers. Within the first 24 hours of operation, telecom service providers (TSPs) identified and blocked approximately 1.35 crore, or 90%, of such spoofed calls from reaching Indian users.

Union Minister of Communications, Jyotiraditya Scindia, launched the ‘International Incoming Spoofed Calls Prevention System,’ highlighting it as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to create a safer digital environment and protect citizens from cybercrime.

This system aims to significantly reduce spoofed calls with Indian (+91) numbers, which cybercriminals have been using to commit fraud by manipulating the calling line identity (CLI). These spoofed calls often appear to originate in India but are actually made from abroad and are commonly linked to financial scams, impersonation, and spreading panic.

There have also been cases of cyber-crime threatening disconnection of mobile numbers by DoT/TRAI officials, fake digital arrests, drugs/narcotics in courier, impersonation as police officials, arrest in sex racket etc.

The Department of Communications (DoT) and TSPs have collaborated and devised a system to identify and block such incoming international spoofed calls from reaching the Indian telecom subscribers.

“Despite such best efforts, there could be cases where fraudsters succeed through other means. For such calls, you can help by reporting such suspected fraud communications at Chakshu facility on Sanchar Saathi,” said the government.

This is another step by DoT to protect citizens from cyber frauds as the system identifies and blocks the incoming international calls. (With inputs from IANS)

  • Mehbooba Mufti Warns Govt Against Pressuring Non-Local Laborers To Leave Kashmir |

PDP president and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti said that the J-K administration is pressuring non-local labourers to leave the region following the recent terrorist attack in Sonamarg, which claimed seven lives. Mufti also called for a more measured response, warning that hasty decisions could damage Kashmir’s social and economic stability and tarnish the region’s image on a national level.

In her social media post, Mufti stressed that expelling non-locals could send a dangerous signal to the rest of the country, undermining the recent peaceful elections held in the Union Territory. She pointed out the risk of this move provoking retaliatory sentiments in other states where Kashmiri workers and students reside, potentially putting their safety at risk.

“Kashmiris living outside the valley could face similar hostility if we force these workers to leave in such a manner. The situation needs to be handled with care,” Mufti said.

She also emphasised the contributions of non-local labourers to the region’s economy, especially in sectors like construction, agriculture, and service industries, warning that their sudden departure could lead to severe labour shortages and halt critical projects.

The former chief minister called on current political leaders, including Omar Abdullah and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to ensure that labourers are given enough time to return home safely rather than being abruptly forced out.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police quickly responded to Mehbooba Mufti, quoting IGP Kashmir and said, “Social media reports claiming that the local administration has asked non-local workers to leave the valley are false. The Jammu and Kashmir Police is committed to ensuring security and fostering a safe environment for all individuals to pursue their livelihoods without fear or intimidation. The general public is advised not to pay heed to such false information on social media platforms.”

Although security has been beefed up across the Kashmir Valley after the Gagangeer attack, extra deployments can be seen on the roads in Kashmir.

  • 5 dead in shooting in home near Seattle and teen in custody, authorities say

Fall City, Wash. — Law enforcement officials found five people killed in a shooting inside a home southeast of Seattle on Monday morning and took a teenager into custody, police said.

Several people called 911 around 5 a.m. to report a shooting in Fall City, Washington, King County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Mike Mellis said at a media briefing Monday afternoon.

Arriving deputies immediately took one teen into custody while another teenager who’d been wounded was taken to a Seattle hospital, Mellis said. Both teens live at the house, Mellis said.

Deputies entering the home found the bodies of five people, he said. Two were adults and three were described by Mellis as young teenagers. No names have been released yet.

“Once bodies were discovered, clearly we understand that this is a hugely significant crime scene,” he said.

Mellis said the shooting appears to involve members of a family, but added that they didn’t yet know how they were related. He also said there was no ongoing threat to the community.

“I have no reason to think that there will be any additional arrests,” he said.

Other people called police from a bathroom inside the home where they hid during the incident, sources told CBS Seattle affiliate KIRO-TV.

Deputies said a neighbor with medical experience helped a teenager who was injured during the incident, according to KIRO. That victim was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The teen in custody was booked into King County’s juvenile detention facility, according to Mellis. The teen was to appear in court for a first hearing on Tuesday or Wednesday, a spokesperson for the county Prosecuting Attorney’s Office said in an email.

A neighbor told KING-TV that a couple and their five children lived in the home.

“I’m just in total shock, I keep bursting into tears,” Lynne Trowern, told the news outlet.
An emailed statement Monday evening from King County Councilmember Sarah Perry said the shooting involved a family of seven people.

Sheriff Patricia Cole-Tindall told KING-TV that she was “very sad, very disturbed” to learn about the shooting.

  • Even though an agreement has been reached on the Line of Actual Control, but…, know what experts are saying on the India-China agreement.

New Delhi. After long talks, India and China finally reached an agreement on military “patrol arrangement” on the Line of Actual Control (LAC). After this agreement, the standoff between the two armies on the remaining major confrontations on the ground in Depsang and Demchok of Ladakh will end in the coming seven to ten days. However, this is only the first step towards restoring normalcy on LAC.

A source in the defense and security establishment said, “China should also agree to the withdrawal of forward deployed troops and the subsequent long process of de-escalation, which is necessary to restore the status quo that existed before April 2020.”

The source said the new patrolling agreement means Chinese troops will stop blocking Indian troops in the ‘bottleneck’ area in the strategically located Depsang Plains, which is about 18 km inside India’s own territory, contrary to what has been done by both sides. The established temporary positions/posts will be transferred. “Similar withdrawal will be done at Charding Ninglung Nala Track Junction near Demchok in the south.”

However, there is no clarity on whether the plan to withdraw a few kilometers from the military standoff will give Indian troops “full access” to their traditional patrol points (PPs) 10, 11, 11A, 12 and 13 in Depsang. Which is towards the important Daulat Beg Oldie and Karakoram Pass in the north.

Patrolling will be done in all areas between the overlapping claims of both sides in the area, with a frequency of twice a month. “Both sides will coordinate patrolling and limit it to 15 soldiers each to avoid confrontation,” a source said. Incidentally, China claims 972 square kilometers of area in the Depsang area, which is near its vital western highway G-219 connecting Tibet with Xinjiang.

Both armies had earlier created no-patrol buffer zones of 3 km to 10 km on the Indian side of the LAC, following the withdrawal of troops in Galwan, the northern bank of Pangong Tso, the Kailash Range and the larger Gogra-Hot Springs area, with the last This time the army withdrew in September 2022. The buffer zones, which were supposed to be temporary arrangements, and the confrontations at Depsang and Demchok meant that Indian troops could not reach 26 of their 65 PPs in eastern Ladakh, starting from the Karakoram Pass in the north and running to Chumar in the south. Are.

There was also no answer to the question whether China has agreed to a new patrolling agreement in eastern Ladakh in exchange for some concessions given by India in Arunachal Pradesh. No statement has come from the Defense Ministry on this.

China had forward deployed more than 50,000 troops and heavy weapon systems along the LAC following multiple incursions by the People’s Liberation Army in eastern Ladakh in 2020. After this, Beijing further strengthened its position by deploying 90,000 more troops in the eastern sector of LAC (Sikkim, Arunachal). Another source said, “China continues to deploy its troops forward along the LAC.”
