New Delhi witnessed a powerful call to action on International Women’s Day as Zydus Vice Chairperson Meha Patel rallied women to prioritize their health with a simple yet vital message: ‘Two hands, three minutes, and one easy exam.’ Speaking at the vibrant Pinkathon marathon in Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Patel emphasized that every day should be Women’s Day for women everywhere. ‘For us at Zydus, the core message remains the same—dedicate just a few moments to self-examination for early breast cancer detection,’ she urged, highlighting how this quick routine can save lives.

Thousands of women laced up their running shoes for the Pinkathon, turning the stadium into a sea of pink determination. Actor and model Milind Soman, a prominent supporter, echoed Patel’s sentiments, stating, ‘In Zydus Pinkathon, every day is Women’s Day. Women pour 100% into family, society, work, and children—they deserve to spare a little time for themselves.’ The event underscored the need for women to reclaim moments for personal wellness amid their demanding lives.

Across India, International Women’s Day sparked nationwide celebrations filled with marathons, cyclothons, and artistic tributes. Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya joined the Fit India Pink Cyclothon, pedaling alongside participants. ‘Cycling is the best exercise and a solution to pollution,’ he declared. ‘Today, our women cyclists have shown that prioritizing health contributes to national progress.’

Renowned sand artist Manas Kumar Sahu crafted a mesmerizing 10-minute sand animation in his studio, celebrating women’s strength, achievements, and the ideals of empowerment, equality, and world peace. As the world marks this day, the 2026 theme ‘Give to Gain’ reminds us that supporting women with resources, education, and opportunities uplifts entire societies. These initiatives not only honor women’s accomplishments but also push for gender equality and rights on social, economic, cultural, and political fronts.
