Patna, March 7: In a significant development shaking up Bihar’s political landscape, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar is set to make his debut in active politics this Sunday. JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha confirmed the news, revealing that Nishant will formally join the party and begin working from Monday onwards.
Speaking to the media in Patna, Jha detailed how the decision unfolded during a legislative party meeting attended by Nitish Kumar himself. Party leaders unanimously urged the CM to bring Nishant into the fold, a request that was promptly accepted. ‘Nitish Kumar has served Bihar selflessly for decades, holding the CM post a record 10 times. His stature elevates any position he takes,’ Jha remarked, praising the leader’s legacy.
Jha clarified that Nitish’s move to the Rajya Sabha marks a role change, not a retreat. During sessions, he’ll spend time in Delhi, but will oversee Bihar’s development from the state. ‘No one should misunderstand this as a permanent shift. He’ll continue guiding us,’ he assured.
On Nishant’s future, Jha said the party leadership will decide his exact role, including potential government positions. JD(U) state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha echoed this, noting Nitish’s commitment to staying involved and guiding the party and government.
This entry signals a new chapter for JD(U), with Nishant poised to carry forward his father’s vision amid Bihar’s dynamic political scene. Party insiders see a bright future, bolstered by Nitish’s enduring influence.
