New Delhi witnessed the launch of a significant two-day national conference titled ‘From Bharati-Nari to Narayani’ on Saturday, ahead of International Women’s Day. Organized by women intellectuals in the capital, the event drew prominent figures including Bhagyashree Sathe, All India Executive Member of Rashtra Sevika Samiti and Co-Convenor of Mahila Samanvay Samiti.

Sathe emphasized that International Women’s Day transcends mere celebrations; it’s a pivotal moment to champion women’s rights, dignity, and active societal roles. As the world observes March 8 annually with events and programs, this Delhi conference stands out by realigning the day with its core ethos.

The gathering highlights complementarity and mutual respect between men and women, fostering a positive outlook towards women’s participation. Sathe noted that tomorrow marks the global observance, but this event uniquely roots itself in Indian thought, ensuring international standards resonate with cultural values. This approach promises to broadcast a powerful message of women’s welfare and empowerment worldwide.

Awareness for women’s involvement and empowerment is surging across India, bolstered by government schemes and grassroots efforts from citizens, organizations, and families. This holistic push is enabling women to excel in diverse fields. Drawing from Swami Vivekananda’s wisdom, Sathe likened society to an eagle needing both wings—men and women—strong for soaring heights. While progress is evident, sustained efforts for equal opportunities and respect remain crucial for true advancement.
