New Delhi witnessed a heartbreaking incident on March 6 when a 24-year-old security guard was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan in Asola village’s Jhanda Colony. The deceased, identified as Dilip Kumar Bairwa from Bholupura village in Rajasthan’s Karauli district, had arrived in the city just three days prior to take up residence in a relative’s room.
Police from Maidangarhi station rushed to the scene following a PCR call from Harimohan, father of the roommate, who grew suspicious after Dilip’s brother-in-law reported his phone was switched off. Unable to get a response despite repeated knocks, they forced open the locked door to find the young man suspended by a nylon rope.
A crime team thoroughly examined the room, finding no signs of foul play. The body was sent for post-mortem, and preliminary investigations point firmly towards suicide. No suicide note was found, but authorities are digging deeper into the circumstances leading to this tragedy.
Dilip, son of Lucky Ram Bairwa, worked as a security guard in the capital. His family and locals remain in shock, grappling with the sudden loss. Maidangarhi police have urged anyone with information to come forward as the probe continues to uncover any hidden factors.
