In a momentous occasion for Rajasthan’s Hadoti region, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually laid the foundation stone for the Kota-Bundi Greenfield Airport on Saturday. Addressing the ceremony from New Delhi, PM Modi declared this day as a beacon of new hope and achievement for Kota, Bundi, Baran, and Jhalawar.

The state-of-the-art airport, set to be built at a cost of approximately Rs 1,500 crore, promises to revolutionize connectivity and propel regional development into a new era. ‘This modern facility will give fresh momentum to the growth of the entire area,’ Modi said, extending his heartfelt congratulations to the people of Kota and Hadoti.

Recalling his promise made during a visit to Kota in November 2023, the Prime Minister emphasized that the airport would no longer remain a distant dream. ‘Residents had to travel to Jaipur or Jodhpur for flights, enduring long journeys and inconveniences. That era is ending,’ he noted. Once operational, the airport will ease travel and boost commerce across the region.

Kota stands as a powerhouse not just in education but also in energy production, harnessing nuclear, coal, gas, and hydro sources. The region is equally renowned for its spiritual heritage, drawing pilgrims to sites like Sri Mathuradheesh Ji, Keshavray Patan, Khade Ganesh Ji Maharaj, and Godavari Balaji Dham.

Infrastructure upgrades are transforming connectivity. Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, Kota’s key railway stations are being modernized. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, passing through Kota and Bundi, is opening new avenues for progress. With enhanced road and rail links reducing travel times to major cities like Delhi, Vadodara, and Mumbai, new industries—especially agri-based—are flourishing.

The airport marks the next chapter in aerial connectivity, set to unlock unprecedented opportunities for Hadoti and neighboring districts. As PM Modi visioned, this project will accelerate economic vitality, making the region a hub of prosperity and progress.
