Azamgarh: Uttar Pradesh minister Om Prakash Rajbhar unleashed a sharp critique of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Rajya Sabha ambitions on Saturday, portraying him as a leader driven by an insatiable hunger for higher political office. Speaking to reporters, Rajbhar quipped that Nitish sees himself as the ‘owner’ of his destiny, with the Upper House beckoning as his ultimate dream.
Rajbhar drew a vivid analogy of political ambition’s endless ladder. ‘A sarpanch dreams of district panchayat after five years, the district head eyes MLA seat, MLA craves ministerial berth, minister lusts for CM chair, CM fantasizes about PM post, and even PM aspires to presidency,’ he remarked, underscoring what he sees as Nitish’s predictable trajectory.
The Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party leader highlighted how BJP-led NDA has openly invited Nitish to Rajya Sabha. ‘Nitish himself posted about wanting to go to the Upper House—it’s his personal call. Who’s stopping him? He’s his own master,’ Rajbhar said, noting BJP’s past support in making Nitish CM in Bihar.
On speculations of BJP making a CM in Bihar, Rajbhar deferred to the legislature party. ‘NDA allies will decide the leader,’ he stated firmly.
Rajbhar didn’t spare opposition parties either. He slammed Congress and Samajwadi Party for their hypocrisy. ‘Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav attack each other more than the government. They only get votes by opposing; praising schemes would doom them,’ he scoffed.
Praising Yogi Adityanath’s government, Rajbhar contrasted it with past regimes. ‘SP gave Rs 300 to disabled, Rs 500 to elderly; now everyone gets Rs 1,000 with dignity. Farmer aid was looted before; leakages are sealed now, irking the opposition,’ he added, emphasizing transparent welfare delivery.
