Mumbai’s entertainment scene is buzzing with the latest development in a brewing industry feud. Renowned director and writer Raj Shandilya has officially terminated his contract with Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms, dismissing all leveled accusations as utterly unfounded.

In a strongly worded official statement, Shandilya clarified that he exercised his contractual rights by issuing a termination notice over two weeks ago. ‘If Balaji believed they had a solid legal ground to challenge the termination, they could have approached the civil courts. No such action has been taken,’ he asserted, pointing out the absence of any legal pushback.

Instead, Shandilya alleges that Balaji has resorted to baseless criminal charges, which he views as an intimidation tactic to undermine his legitimate exit. Confident in his legal standing, the filmmaker vowed to address these claims through proper judicial channels.

Amid the controversy, Shandilya’s upcoming project ‘Bhagam Bhag 2’ remains firmly on course. Starring heavyweights like Akshay Kumar, Manoj Bajpayee, and Paresh Rawal, this sequel to the 2006 blockbuster comedy is set to deliver laughs as scheduled.

Shandilya, celebrated for hits like ‘Dream Girl’ and ‘Dream Girl 2’, urged industry peers to stay vigilant against such pressure tactics. He emphasized the need for caution in professional partnerships, highlighting how contractual disputes can escalate unnecessarily.

The dispute traces back to Balaji’s claims of contract breach, leading to legal notices against Shandilya, ‘Bhagam Bhag 2’ producers, and Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films. As the saga unfolds, Bollywood watches closely, wondering if this signals deeper rifts in production alliances.

Shandilya’s bold move underscores a growing assertiveness among creatives navigating complex deals in India’s vibrant film industry. With his track record of box-office successes, including ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’, his next venture promises to keep audiences hooked, controversy notwithstanding.
