Patna, March 5 – In a display of faith and resolve ahead of filing his nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections, BJP National President Nitin Nabin offered prayers at Patna’s revered Kali Mata, Mahavir, and Hanuman temples on Thursday. The Bharatiya Janata Party has nominated Nabin to represent Bihar in the Upper House of Parliament.
Emerging from the temples, Nabin addressed the gathered media with a serene smile. ‘God’s presence is felt in every moment of life,’ he stated. ‘Mahavir Hanuman Temple holds a special place in my heart. Today marks a new chapter for me. We work in alignment with the BJP’s decisions.’
He elaborated on his spiritual sojourn, saying, ‘I sought darshan at Kali Temple and Mahavir Temple, invoking blessings from Maa Kali, Lord Shiva, and Hanuman ji. My prayer is for the strength to continue this journey with the same spirit.’
Reflecting on his deep ties to Bihar, Nabin emphasized, ‘Bihar occupies a unique space in my life, as does my native region. One cannot grow great by abandoning their roots. Strong roots nurture a mighty banyan tree.’
He affirmed his commitment, adding, ‘Bihar is my soil. Nurturing it, keeping it fertile – this is etched in my soul. Wherever life takes me, my region and Bihar will always be with me.’
The Rajya Sabha elections are slated for March 16, filling 37 seats across 10 states where incumbents’ terms end in April 2026. The Election Commission announced the schedule on February 18, with nominations due by today and scrutiny on March 6.
States involved include Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Telangana. BJP’s recent announcements feature Nabin and Sivesh Kumar from Bihar, Teresh Gowala and Jogen Mohan from Assam, Lakshmi Verma from Chhattisgarh, Sanjay Bhatia from Haryana, Manmohan Samal and Sujit Kumar from Odisha, and Rahul Sinha from West Bengal.
