In a remarkable operation, the Delhi Police Crime Branch has successfully located and safely rescued a 28-year-old woman who had been missing for months. The NR-I unit of the Crime Branch tracked her down in the Jharoda Majra area of Burari, Delhi, and reunited her with her relieved family.
The case originated from Alipur Police Station, where a missing person report was filed on October 29, 2025. Despite exhaustive initial searches, leads remained elusive, prompting the police to announce a Rs 20,000 reward for credible information. This incentive galvanized community efforts and sharpened the focus of the investigative team.
Under the leadership of Inspector Ajay Gahlot and supervision of ACP Ashok Sharma, a dedicated team comprising W/HC Kusum (734/CR) and ASI Premveer (1271/CR) spearheaded the mission. Combining technical surveillance with meticulous ground intelligence, they pinpointed the woman’s location on March 3, 2026.
Upon rescue, the woman revealed that her disappearance stemmed from a family dispute. She had befriended a colleague at a Pitampura call center, and when her family objected vehemently, emotional distress led her to leave home impulsively. Thankfully, no criminal abduction was involved.
This success underscores the Delhi Police’s unwavering commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals, particularly women. The team’s synergy, perseverance, and strategic use of resources exemplify top-tier policing. Special commendations go to W/HC Kusum and ASI Premveer for their pivotal roles, setting a benchmark for future operations.
