In the heart of India’s booming AI adoption, Samsung is redefining smartphone privacy with its latest Galaxy S26 series. JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, announced on Tuesday that the new lineup marks a pivotal upgrade in user data control amid the AI era.
The freshly launched Galaxy S26 Ultra flagship introduces the groundbreaking ‘Privacy Display’ feature, integrated directly into the screen. Unlike third-party filters, it maintains optimal viewing during normal use while drastically reducing visibility from side angles. Users can customize privacy zones on the screen or set activation triggers, ensuring personal content stays private in public spaces.
Park highlighted India’s strategic role in Samsung’s global innovation ecosystem. Engineers from R&D centers in Bengaluru and Noida played key roles in developing the S26 series, with manufacturing underway at the Noida factory. ‘This is the industry’s first such feature, ushering in a new era of smartphone privacy,’ he stated.
On-device privacy enhancements process sensitive data locally via personal context processing, preventing it from leaving the device. Despite featuring advanced AI agents, users retain full authority over their data, deciding when and how personal information is shared.
Even with Samsung apps like Notes, Calendar, Gallery, Reminders, and Clock interacting with partner AI agents, users control data usage for model training or targeted ads. The ‘Privacy Alerts’ feature intelligently monitors app attempts to access device admin controls or sensitive data such as precise location, call logs, or contacts, empowering better permission management.
‘We ensure AI works per your commands and wishes. We won’t allow it to go rogue or fabricate falsehoods,’ Park emphasized. As Samsung’s third-generation AI phone, the Galaxy S26 series offers superior context understanding and proactive suggestions to simplify daily tasks, with AI agents’ access strictly limited to essentials.
All Galaxy AI experiences operate under the Knox Security Framework, enforcing uniform technical and policy safeguards. Personal data remains device-secure, shared only when necessary, and never exploited for advertising.
Available for pre-order across major online and offline stores in India, pricing starts at ₹87,999 for the base S26, ₹1,19,999 for S26 Plus, and ₹1,39,999 for S26 Ultra.
